trish1c Posted November 7, 2015 #1 Share Posted November 7, 2015 (edited) Hopefully this won't violate CC's rules. Mods, if it does, just forget I asked & delete the thread. Our next cruise is on a ship with a water park & obstacle course in the middle. Since we have been to the ports, DH are planning to stay on board & use the facilities when they are less crowded. Usually on sea days I sun & DH sleeps. He burns very easily which is why we cruise so I can get sun & he can avoid it. But for us to use the "park" he will need to be outside. Of course he wil have sun screen & a chair in the shade, but I'd like to get him some sort of a UV protective shirt to wear while we play. My search of the Internet isn't getting me anywhere so I'm turning to you, the cruise experts. Does anybody have a recommendation as to wear I can purchase such a garment? CruiserBruce Posted November 7, 2015 #2 Share Posted November 7, 2015 Columbia has a very successful line of UV protective clothes. Available in many locations, like sports stores and on line.
Sea Hag Posted November 7, 2015 #3 Share Posted November 7, 2015 Try REI, rei.com. They have a good selection.
SuiteTraveler Posted November 7, 2015 #4 Share Posted November 7, 2015 (edited) A rash guard would be a good choice. Just Google "buy a rash guard" and you will have no problem finds lots of them. BTW, make sure your swimsuits don't have any metal pieces on them as bits of metal are not allowed on the slides on the ship. In fact, you will have to remove your wedding rings as well. mtwingcpa Posted November 7, 2015 #5 Share Posted November 7, 2015 I'll cast a second vote for Columbia Sportswear. I have several of their UV rated shirts and pants, and I've been quite happy with them. You can buy at their website or sometimes selectively on Amazon. luvscruising2007 Posted November 7, 2015 #6 Share Posted November 7, 2015 DH loves the LLBEAN tropic wear shirts. They come long and short sleeved and in a variety of colors. They are very light weight and have an air vent in the back so any breeze can keep him cool. He wears them all summer long. Also they launder beautifully and when hung up from the dryer, the wrinkles, if any, fall away. They are a little pricey, but worth it.
Eparlin71 Posted November 7, 2015 #7 Share Posted November 7, 2015 I have been using Coolibar UV protected rash guards for snorkeling and swimming long sleeves and shorts. I have a few outfits I can color coordinate them. Amazon and directly online purchases. I highly recommend them
