Crown Bay

A number of years HAL signed a contract to dock at Crown Bay.

Once in a great while, HAL ships -- if there are more than 5 ships in port -- will tender into the down town area.

You can check cruisetimetables for your date and see how many ships will be in port at this site:

On the other hand, in February 2013 we were meant to dock at Crown Bay but were advised in the morning on our approach to St. Thomas that we were being reassigned to a berth at Havansight. IIRC, there was one other ship docked at Havensight and only the Oasis of the Seas at Crown Bay, so perhaps they were trying to even the passenger load. We were disappointed as it threw a bit of a monkey wrench into out DIY plans for the day, but we survived.

There are rare exceptions when HAL will dock at Havensight or even tender from inner harbor but that is not common. We were on Noordam January 2007 and tendered from inner harbor to Charlotte Amalie center of downtown.
