Where is Champagne Bay?

Recommended Posts

Hmmm perhaps someone on the bridge had one glass of champagne too many.

Luganville on Espirtu Santo is often referred to as Santo. Champagne bay is on the opposite side of the island and is a popular cruise ship destination.

Markets are set up on the beach as well the locals will have lobster pots in the water and cook fresh seafood for passengers to enjoy.

Essentially a beach day but a beautiful place to visit.

David - off topic but is that your choice of flag?

Cheers

Di

Yes. We have 5 to choose from. We are about to have a referendum to decide which of the 5 we like the best. Then early next year we have another vote to choose whether we want the new flag or retain the present one.

I like this one as it keeps the red white and blue, has the silver fern and the Southern Cross. I like the blue colour and the red is a nod to our British history and red is also a symbolic colour in Maori tradition.

So that one is my choice out of the five. :)

I met a few people who are very adamant that the silver fern shouldn't be on the new flag as it can be found anywhere in the world and only represents NZ sport. I said, that I thought it was more than that and is as significant as the maple leaf is to Canada.:D

I think I will lay some money on the old flag ultimately being retained.

Why??? because while there may be a lot of people (even a majority?) thinking that it would be good to change the flag, they will be split 5 ways in the initial choice of a challenger. Some/many of the supporters of 4 of the non-winning flag may be a bit pissed off that their choice was not selected - so then vote for the status quo. Might be wrong - but prepared to back the existing flag for $10!! :)

The general idea might be popular -- but the Devil is always in the detail - as in Australia's Republican debate!! :)

I agree with your reasoning so your money will most likely be safe.;)
