Whats up in Tampa Feb 5-7?

Does anyone know whats going on in Tampa the weekend of the 5th-7th of 2016? I can't seem to find any hotel in downtown Tampa with open rooms.

We have Gasparilla the weekend before, but nothing really going on that weekend.

That is Superbowl weekend but that will happen in California. Some of it could be Superbowl parities.

 

The travel/hotel web sites still show a lot of rooms available but the price does seem a little higher than normal.

I did a quick check on the Marriott site. There is a Fairfield Inn in Tampa/Brandon with a cruise package for $140 on December 5 but $250 on February 6. Continental breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children, free parking for 14 nights, and transportation to the port for 2 adults ($15 for additional people). I think you might be right about something going on that weekend, but it might just be "season" pricing.

That's the weekend the Florida State Fair is starting which brings in people from around the state and is right outside of Tampa.
