Jewel Diamond and Platinum "party"?

What does the Jewel do for the Diamond and Platinum pax special event? We've been on NOS in both 2004 and 2005 and the event was a nice brunch in the Viking Crown(Cosmopolitan Club). On Brilliance in both 2004 and 2005, it was just another cocktail party with hot hors d' ouvres(sp). I have read that some ships do a sit down lunch in the dining room with special menu. Looking forward to Jewel for the first time in Feb!

We just recently did the Serenade to Alaska and we had a sit down brunch at Portofino. Very nice.

On the Legend of the Seas May '05 Canary Island voyage, we had an 11 AM brunch style appatizers in the Viking Crown Lounge. Excellent food. Captain Nik spent time at each table and so did Fred DeCosse, the head of hotel.

I think it depends on the itinerary and how many platinum and diamond members are on board. We were on the Jewel for a Transatlantic cruise and the party was an evening cocktail party in the Safari Club- on the Serenade, which was a Caribbean itinerary, we had a brunch in Portofino. So it probably varies.

When we were on the Brilliance they had a sit down lunch for the 600 diamond and platinum members. On the Serenade they had a brunch at Portofinos.

 

What about the Adventure - does any one know what they do there?

On the Enchantment last week, it was a cocktail party with hot and cold hors d'ouevres at abt 11:45 am in the Viking Crown Lounge. The regular welcome back party was in the Spotlight lounge on the second formal night.

We've had both lunches and cocktail parties with hot snacks. I think it depends on the ship and loyalty ambassador what they have.

We think the special lunch with drinks are the best.

It also depends on the ship and what is going on at the time who shows up.

The loyalty person is always there, sometines the CD and sometimes the Captain.

We just did the Jewel on 9/12 and our party was a coctail party just before lunch, which we thought was odd. The party was very nice but it seemed weird to have it in the middle of the day.

 

We had a very nice brunch in Chops on our Radiance Alaska cruise.

Just came off the Jewel and they had a 11:00am cocktail party, with live music and snacks in the Safari Club. We were on the Radiance two years ago on a panama cruise and we had a 11:00 brunch in the Vortex.

Ooooooops! I posted taling about the Legend. This is about the Jewel.

 

We booked the Jewel for our first Trasatlantic voyage next April 30th.

 

This will be our first Diamond excurision. We have no idea what that brings as we normally sail in a suite, and feel that RCCL does everything to make our voyages enjoyable. However, Diamond is a milestone, and we will honor it.
