Caribbean Chris Posted December 12, 2015 #52 Share Posted December 12, 2015 Sorry for the poor start of your cruise Chris. Hi to Bob and R! Hi! We're back in the little lounge with folks in wheelchairs. Not sure if boarding has resumed, but the party people all had to collect their IDs and have cleared out. So much for getting up at five to arrive early. Could have been worse, standing outside in the heat, I'm sure! And a woman security guard here treated us so well, finding a chair and clearing a path. xkisses Posted December 12, 2015 #53 Share Posted December 12, 2015 We are also in line. No info from anyone. We were actually 2 hours late due to an Alamo snafu, so we are close to the end of the line. We did get water though. Not sure what we will do when we eventually have to pee. Also I suppose I can't squawk about Concierge priority check-in now, right? Fiancés first cruise, and he's not happy. :( poor start to our wedding week. Hope everyone else is faring well. DPD Posted December 12, 2015 #61 Share Posted December 12, 2015 Hi Jerseygirl A second ago you were slagging the CEOs off for holding you up on embarking, now it appears it was not them at all, should you not apologise for that. I hope you get aboard soon and enjoy your cruise after the bad start.

xkisses Posted December 12, 2015 #67 Share Posted December 12, 2015 Are they serving champagne when you board ? Goodness I hope so!! We had grand plans to hit the gym after boarding, but 2 hours of waiting and getting hungry have changed that. Champagne would seal the deal. :D
DPD Posted December 12, 2015 #68 Share Posted December 12, 2015 Hi Maybe their homeland security can apologise for doing their job and trying to protect them all. It is just a small delay, you are on holiday, just relax

All those posts refering to the CEO and her "entourage" have been removed, so guess there is no longer any need to apologize? ;) Everyone enjoy your cruise! It's a beautiful day!!! It's a beautiful day!!! They are still there (it is a separate thread), and I for one do not think the OP owes an apology. It is bad form for the CEO and group to think more of themselves than the guests. JMO

The CEO wasn't the cause of the delay as is pretty clear from the above. False rumors.

DPD Posted December 12, 2015 #73 Share Posted December 12, 2015 No one even knows if the CEO is on the cruise and it does not appear that the reason for the delay is because of her. Why jump to assumptions and slag someone off.

Caribbean Chris Posted December 12, 2015 #75 Share Posted December 12, 2015 Payne was the first name of the sweet and helpful security guard at Port of Miami - posting so I can remember to commend her to the Port. We're on board now and yes, champagne was served as always! We were on our way to Customer Service right after boarding to ask about the location of Raylene's relief box, and an officer stopped us to say "I read on Cruise Critic that your dog was stepped on, is she OK? We are so sorry that happened!" Wow, very nice. We assured him her tail still wags. He advised us to head for our room to get an orientation for the dog box, which we did. The Sky Suite is beautiful and the butler Keegan was at the door instantly, and escorted us to the box location (a good, covered area with shelter against potential rain. Much better than in the past.) He provided lots of information, quickly made a reservation for our free specialty dinner, and came back to confirm. While we were on the balcony, our room steward Michael arrived with a warm welcome and noted a few little requests. We're off to a wonderful start, and I mean that sincerely. Hope there won't be too many grumbles for something Celebrity could not control. We don't know yet how late our departure will be, muster drill hasn't happened yet. Think of the mess that little "prank" cost. Luggage coming aboard now. I am so sorry the poor folks had their party cancelled, too. I worked in event planning and feel for the organizers.
