loupana Posted December 17, 2015 Author #101 Share Posted December 17, 2015 Can you see Oasis of the Seas at the other port in St. Thomas in the above photo? Here I'll zoom in from atop Paradise Point so you'll get a better look I could get closer but without a tripod quality just isn't very good... Rare nbsjcruiser Posted December 17, 2015 #114 Share Posted December 17, 2015 Thanks very much for taking the time to post your pictures. They are really quite nice. I'll be following your posts since we'll be on the Getaway in a few weeks so looking forward to those. Can I ask what type of camera you are using and what lenses? I'm particularly interested in what lenses you used for ship interior pictures. Are you using a good prime lens for those?
dolita22 Posted December 17, 2015 #115 Share Posted December 17, 2015 Thanks for your review! Your pictures are awesome! Have only gotten to page 3, but noticed you were in stateroom 14176. We're in that room on our January Escape cruise! Thanks for the pics. :) Exact same layout as the angled balcony room we had on the Escape for the 3-day US cruise last month. Can't wait to go back! john kaz Posted December 17, 2015 #116 Share Posted December 17, 2015 Lou, awesome pics and review... I noticed you ate lunch at The Republic a few times. Is this an expensive place for lunch? Is each item priced differently, or is it like Johnny Rockets on Royal Caribbean where you pay one price and eat what you want? thanks, John

I'm particularly interested in what lenses you used for ship interior pictures. Are you using a good prime lens for those? My photography skills are not where I want them. I don't have a DSLR I have a bridge camera. I setup custom modes for dark interior and food but I still had lots of trouble with lighting and some did not come out just right, but practice makes perfect so I'll keep playing around with all the settings.
