How is Main Dining Room Seating Arranged on Carnival Freedom?

We'll be taking our first Carnival cruise in the Spring 2016. Our reservation registration allowed us to pick the MDR time, but did not ask what table size we would prefer. On Princess, we've been able to submit preferred table size (e.g., 2, 4, 6, 8, etc.) How does Carnival select seating? And, will we know prior to sailing? We really like to sit with the same folks each night to become better acquainted and have more in-depth conversations, otherwise we'd go with "anytime dining", so we're hoping that we do not get assigned to a different table each night!

Thanks!

We are also booked on the Freedom in January. If you have selected a dining time then you will be assigned to a table with the same people and same servers each night. However all breakfasts/brunches in the MDR are anytime dining and random in who you will sit with.

We have been on 3 carnival cruises and one time we were at a table by ourselves, another a large table with 8 seats, and the last cruise a booth with another couple. Our experience has been that Carnival tends to match you with like people of similar ages. Couples to couples, singles to singles, etc. We enjoyed the table by ourselves the least and have greatly enjoyed meeting new people and seeing the same faces and wait staff for diner each night.

You can request a certain table size on embarkation day, I think you would see the maitre D of your dining room when you embark but perhaps someone with more knowledge can give us specifics.

You will be assigned to one table for dinner.

The table number will be on your sign n sail card when you check in. You can go to the dining room and see what size it is and if it is not to your liking you can meet with the maitre d and ask to be changed.
