All our dinners came from the Main Dining Room, where most of these pics were taken. Every night, my husband, Anthony, and I, Aurelio, sat at the same Table 115, a two-top. Alfredo, our waiter from Goa, India, and Kent, assistant waiter from Trinidad and Tobago, eventually learned our preferences. For example, either one would serve me Diet Coke with no ice, without my asking. Because of my Soda Package, that drink was free. Here's Alfredo: We also ate a few lunches and breakfasts at the Windjammer Buffet (sorry, no pics) and enjoyed goodies at the Promenade Cafe. The first time he picked this dish, he asked our waiter how many pieces it contained. Alfredo brought this starter and then, without prompting, a plate of about seven shrimp. Just one example of the attentive service in the Main Dining Room that inspired our additional waiter tips at the end of the cruise. Passengers seemed to think it was served only on one day during the cruise. Chocolate Milkshake. Delicious. Chocolate Parfait. Also delicious. Chocolate Waffle with caramel banana topping. alocsin Posted December 17, 2015 Author #10 Share Posted December 17, 2015 (edited) Fisherman's Plate - Broiled lobster tail, garlic butter and seasonal vegetables Slow-roasted Prime Rib - (medium rare) Potato croquettes, semi-dried Roma Tomatoes, haricots verts and horseradish au jus: Fish, Seafood and Mash - Battered fish fillet, sea scallops and shrimp, minted peas, mash potatoes and a remoulade sauce. Not the tastiest dish. Rosemary Lamp Shank - Haricots verts, caramelized pearl onions, roasted pumpkin and a Cabernet jus. A bit overdone in spots but otherwise tasty. RIGHT: Jaffa Cake - dark chocolate and orange parfait with amaretto-lemon sponge cake. Baked Alaska -Vanilla, chocolate and strawberry ice cream in a baked meringue - Basically tasted like Neapolitan ice cream with a thick whipped cream on top: Grand Marnier Souffle with Grand marnier-vanilla sauce. Delicious. Clockwise from top: Williams Pear Chocolate Crisp – smooth Williams pear cream chocolate crunch, and a chocolate reduction. Chocolate Sensation - Espresso sponge, chocolate truffle mousse, almond icing and chocolate glaze. Key Lime Pie – Tangy lime curd, baked pie shell and a candied lime and vanilla sauce. Pizzas by the slice were generally terrible consisting of tasteless ingredients on a crust with the consistency of wet paper. Some of those pieces may have been there since the start of the cruise. Still, people lines up in droves for a taste. In contrast, the made-to-order personal pizzas tasted yummy. This selection includes chorizo, tomatoes, green onions, and red peppers. Food and basic coffee was complementary. Extra charge for premium coffees and drinks. Anthony's favorite goodie: Cheesecake Lollipop. Grab them if you see them because they're not always available. LEFT: Danish. RIGHT: Red Velvet mini donut. Willy Wonka Pie – my favorite Cafe Promenade treat, which I ate two or three times a day. I can't believe that I never took a picture of it. We only ate there once but I wish we found the time to try all their selections. Menu: TOP: The Sicilian with Oregano and Paprika Baguette. BOTTOM: Thuringia Bratwurst with Salt and Caraway Seed Baguette. TOP: The Sicilian with Oregano and Paprika Baguette. BOTTOM: The Big Apple with Low-Salt Sesame Seed Baguette. I know I'm just waxing sentimental but that was the exact moment I discovered the world was so much bigger than the small town I grew up in! I was addicted not only to the experience of cruising itself but to the state of mind it puts me in every time I walk across the gangway! Like they say that was 20 years and 2 husbands ago but it's amazing how just looking at a photo of prime rib can take you back! Thank you for for posting those photos! It just made my night! Love so many of them. Only problem is, the menu hasn't really changed in the last few years, and it's so much the same between the Freedom and Oasis class. To be honest I'm getting a little too used to it. Spoiled I guess. My particular favorites: Appetizers: The soups. (Pretty much all of them) :) Escargot - Every night without fail Scallops Beef Carpaccio Smoked Duck Antipasta Entrees: Lamb Chops Beef Tenderloin Lobster Horseradish-Crusted Salmon I'm not a dessert guy, but if I get one it's the cheese plate ..and who can forget the WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARM Bread!
