Ox Fan Cruiser Posted December 27, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 27, 2015 Just what is the differences between these cabins? What are the benefits added to each level? I've only sailed Veranda....so far. Should I upgrade next time? Is it worth the money?
Rare ghstudio Posted December 27, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 27, 2015 the amenities of each level are listed on the celebrity web site celebritycruises.com. I'll give you my view. On M-class ships concierge and aqua cabins are 20 sq ft larger than standard veranda cabins...On S class ships the cabins are identical size. We book concierge or above on M-class ships. Many of the perks are "fluff" in that they either don't exist, they aren't useful or everyone gets the perks anyway...but you have to judge what's important to you. Concierge and Aqua give you more captain's club points per day...important to some. Aqua class has their own dining room...Blu...and that's the major reason to book aqua over the others, if that's important. some love Blu, others are fine with the MDR. You have to judge if the premium price for aqua is worth the perks...in other words, what is eating at Blu worth to you. Note: the aqua cabins are not ideally located...many are directly under the pool deck or other noise creating space. Additionally, many of the aqua cabins have a very large overhang so there is limited sun (a benefit to some/ not to others). The exception has been the A1 cabins on the M-class ships on deck 11 which had nothing above. Celebrity is now making deck 12 into a movie theater space so that quiet may no longer be the case....the jury is ont on that. We tend to book A1's on M-class ships and 1A's (regular verandas) on our Celebrity cruises....but sometimes when you book there are special offers from Celebrity or TA's so this is really most of the time...but not all. Perhaps more than you wanted to know...
rjrpar Posted December 27, 2015 #3 Share Posted December 27, 2015 I find that it is sometimes cheaper to eat in the specialty restaurants every night vs. paying for Aqua. The SRs are much better than Blu, which I think is equal to the MDR- some would argue.
Ox Fan Cruiser Posted December 27, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted December 27, 2015 Thanks GHStudio, what ships have these new movie theaters? so these are built where cabins used to be?
El Crucero Posted December 27, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 27, 2015 We have always gone Concierge or Aqua on both M and S class ships. However, we tend to book more at the last minute and often those Concierge or Aqua staterooms are only a couple of dollars a day more than a veranda or sometimes even less. This makes the extra "fluff" and/or BLU worth it to us.
Rare ghstudio Posted December 27, 2015 #6 Share Posted December 27, 2015 Thanks GHStudio, what ships have these new movie theaters? so these are built where cabins used to be? No..the outdoor movies are being built on deck 12. At this point, only the infinity has the new theater...not sure when the other m class ships will get the theater.
