12:30pm port arrival? (Jacksonville)

We have *always* arrived at the port by 9am at the latest (Charleston, Boston, Norfolk, Canaveral, Tampa, and Miami.)

If we had zone boarding, we were always zone 1 or 2, just because we were early birds.

We are now Platinum cruisers and the time arriving has never been an issue (but we are still early birds.)

We are cruising out of Jacksonville for the first time, leaving this Saturday (1/2/16) and we are driving in the day of the cruise. We will arrive at the port around 12:30pm, and we have people with us (my wife's parents) that aren't platinum and don't have FTTF.

I've been reading everything I can about the port of Jacksonville and it appears people have a "love/hate" relationship with that port.

A couple of questions:

1) can my wife escort her parents thru the general boarding queue (not skipping ahead, just accompanying them thru their wait), or are they going to force my wife off to the platinum line?

2) where does platinum and general boarding queues diverge from one another?

3) on a "normal" day, what does the general boarding wait times tend to be around 12:30pm? (15 minute wait or a 2 hour wait?)

Anything else you can think that might be helpful to know?

We have prepaid our parking.

Thanks for your feedback, and Happy New Year!

1) You can waive the Platinum boarding perk and board whenever and with whomever you want.

2) When you walk in the terminal with your boarding pass marked Platinum, you will be directed to priority, as stated, you can waive it.

3) That depends on when most cruisers arrive at the terminal (since that creates the wait) and how efficiently the workers are in processing the passengers on your embarkation day.
