ODECCIT Posted January 2, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 2, 2016 Looking for a real nice Family beach, during our cruise. thats not to difficult to get to The closest beaches to port are Mambo/aquarium beach or Pirate bay. Cab is $5 per person each way if you have 4 or more people. Chairs are $3 at Mambo with $3 entry fee. Pirate bay is $5 entry fee including chair. Both have bars and free Wi/fi. stoddaj1 Posted January 13, 2016 #4 Share Posted January 13, 2016 What is the most cost effective way to get to a beach close to the port? Is there a store where we could stop to grab some beer to take to the beach with us? Cost?

Is there a store where we could stop to grab some beer to take to the beach with us? Cost? Taxi would be the cheapest way to get there. Depending on how many people in your party they'll charge per person rate. Get the beer on the beach you won't save a lot by getting it at the local store that only takes local currency. Rare hcat Posted January 15, 2016 #7 Share Posted January 15, 2016 Our cruise line offers excursions that include beach stops. We will be pucking one of them Choices are Mambo, Sequarium or Cabana Beach Based on anyone's experiences, which one has the nicest sand, calmest/clear water, fewer crowds and amenites like shops, eateries, restrooms, etc. It will only be a stop but we'd like to make the most of it. Thanks

Thanks We usually avoid all these beaches for the very reason that they are used by large tours. Personally we like to arrange for a rental car and drive along the Northwest Coast (the road is actually inland) where there are quite a few near empty beaches (some with decent snorkeling). Playa Cas Abao is a pretty place (not great for snorkelers) which is not usually crowded with cruisers (although it can get its share of locals....especially on weekends). The last time we drove towards the Northwest we stopped at Jeremy Beach and to our delight were the only people on this beach for more then an hour (until a local dive shop van arrived with some student divers).
