Hi we have a 1745 return flight to uk. Was wondering what our options are as really don't want to spend all day at airport. Thanks

Celebrity offers post cruise tours you should be eligible for. Understand you thought but you can delay getting off till about 9:30 which gets you to MIA at about 11:00 and you need to be at the airport by 3:45.

 

you also could certainly get off early and shuttle to MIA and rent a car. Getting off early could get you to MIA by about 8:00. Lots of things to do there including just sightseeing. Suggest doing the car p/u and dropoff at MIA as cheaper and less hassle. Check out Trip Advisor for lots of suggestion in Miami.

 

Simply check out attractions on Trip Advisor for tour operators who offer tours of the area.

 

Last, couple years ago there were several who would pick you up at the pier and drop you off at either FLL or MIA. Also look at your roll call. Am sure there will be others who would like to tour a bit before flying home.

Rent a car and take a day trip to South Beach or Ft. Lauderdale Beach. Both pretty cool places to hang out for a day.

 

Our flights home after a cruise are normally 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM and that's what we do. We can normally rent a car for under $50 all in. Try to rent a car with a trunk to keep your luggage safe and out of sight.

They usually do offer an Everglades trip on an airboat which is an excellent excursion. Luggage is kept on your bus and gets dropped off with you.

 

You might want to rent a car for the day or get a room for the day at a local hotel. We did that once with the kids and coincidentally the hotel's laundry room was adjacent to the pool. Stayed at the pool all day and we came home with all the laundry done.

There is also (or at least used to be) a Celebrity excursion that drops you off at a mall (Bayside Marketplace maybe) while they store your luggage for you, and then they take you to the airport later. It worked well for us and allowed us to do a little shopping before going home.

 

Oops - I just remembered, I think it was a hop-on hop-off bus excursion and the last stop was at a mall.

We are the same except our flight is 22:00 we rented a van as there is 4 of us. Hertz pick up at pier take you to depot collect car return car to Airport our 7 seater worked out at £48:00 approx car would be cheaper. Taxi to airport is around £23:00 you can take luggage with you and explore the Everglades.

For convenience and simplicity if we are flying late afternoon/very early evening we will usually just go with an X tour. Too much trouble to load bags onto a shuttle to car rental, queue in car rental, load bags....Different if you do not have to check in until after 6pm.
