RoperDK Posted January 4, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2016 I haven't heard this one asked before, so here goes. Can you order any brand of liquor (bottle) to be delivered to your cabin or does it have to match the same brands they offer from Bon Voyage pre-ordering? My favorite brand is no longer offered for pre-ordering. Thanks for your time, Dawn

RoperDK Posted January 4, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted January 4, 2016 Thank you Kamloops50. I know they carry my brand on the ship, they just don't have it for pre-order anymore. For instance, you can pre-order Grey Goose vodka but you can't order Ketel One. Does anyone know if I can order a bottle of Ketel One from room service when I get onboard? Thanks in advance, Dawn

Bases5 Posted January 4, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 4, 2016 I don't know your exact answer But the bottles thru room service is limited in variety and quantity I have been turned down on variety and room service has ran out later in the cruise. I would suggest calling sooner rather than later.

bobsfamily Posted January 4, 2016 #7 Share Posted January 4, 2016 Generally the booze available thru Room Service is what you can get thru BV... and the selection goes down as the cruise continues. I don't think RS can go to the shop and grab a bottle to deliver, regardless of the price increase... the inventory for the shops is not owned by Carnival (I think). Yes you can order booze/beer/wine from RS at BV rates but it's limited in selection....
smarks Posted January 5, 2016 #8 Share Posted January 5, 2016 Is there a list out there of what alcohol you can order from room service. We have a lot of OBC for our next cruise and we are planning on using some of it on a bottle of Crown Royal. Thanks

I get "free drinks" from the casino and the bottles take care of the rest. Under $200 for me and the wife verses the drink package and no worries about it is fine by me. It's a profit thing and plenty of people pay for Bon Voyage. Not asking you for your *ahem* technique but what's your brand of scotch? Laphroaig? Of course, Lagavulin 16 is preferred, but can't afford to drink that every day, so the Laphroaig 10 does the trick.:D

I use that to mix with Dr. Pepper when I make drinks for the help... Kidding, only kidding. ;) I was hoping you weren't going to say Famous Grouse or something like that. sandij Posted September 6, 2016 #22 Share Posted September 6, 2016 HAL lets you order before sailing and their prices are almost half of Carnivals. Weird since they're all owned by same company.
Kamloops50 Posted September 10, 2016 #23 Share Posted September 10, 2016 (edited) It are owned by the same company. But they are run independently. Carnival Cruise lines wants to sell more booze on board by the drink and make the money. HAL wants to make more money selling wine and they don't care really about the drinks. crusinpsychRN Posted September 10, 2016 #24 Share Posted September 10, 2016 What other mass market cruise lines allow you to order at all? HAL prices are a fraction of CCL. I paid $38 for a bottle of bourbon CCL wants $85 for.
RoperDK Posted September 12, 2016 Author #25 Share Posted September 12, 2016 Hi Dawn. Did you find out if the selection and prices are different from room service? Our brand is not on the pre order list either. Thanks. I actually ended up drinking some of the rum that my husband pre-ordered. I received my free drink card at the casino fairly early this cruise :D so I never needed to call room service for a bottle. Sorry that I couldn't help.
