Haven Suite gets 4 promos?

I am confused on what is included on the Haven bookings.

 

NCL website has it listed that the Haven Suite get the 4 Free Style package (UBP, UDP, WIFI, Excursions) on select cruises, but how do I know which ones are included and which are excluded? If it has the free "Free Style Choice" check box thingy does that mean Haven get all 4 on that sailing?

 

Do they include the gratuities? Because if I book a balcony and pick UBP they add a charge for service/fee. But if I do a mock booking for Haven, no fees added, for the same cruise. Does that mean all 4 aren't included?

There is no more UDP. It is now the SDP. I would recommend you read the Terms and Conditions that will tell you the exact charges for gratuities, how many meals are included, etc.

 

The T/C link is at the bottom of the promo page.

All suites whether Haven or not get all four perks. With the current promotion you pay gratuities. If it's a 7 day cruise you get SDP for four meals. There no longer is UDP.

If you like it how it is now you better hurry up and book. Anymore they change their policies more than a hospital nursery changes diapers :eek:

 

They also are far from free. We had a SE forward penthouse on the Jewel for our last Alaska cruise and we didn't have any of these perks....oh and our room was $3000 less! I hope NCL pays the price for what they are doing and return to how it used to be but unfortunately I don't see that happening. Cruising is getting much more popular. Supply and demand.

For those that love to confuse issues {that be me :rolleyes:} the Deluxe Balcony aka mini-suite [cabin class MA MB] get only one of the 4 promos (2 on some very select sailings)

and usually the the beverage package is the promo of choice (best bang for the money) !

It doesn't matter whether you book through a TA or directly through NCL by phone or on the internet. You get the promos regardless. Many TAs will give you a substantial amount of OBC in addition.

this is a great thread of info. i cannot find the terms on the NCL site so the above post is great. plus id seen in other threads people had to pay the 18% drink tax even in haven rooms. also nowhere did i see you can use 1000mb data with the deal. thats worth a nice chunk of change.

 

how can they do this? do they just overprice all the cruises. reason i ask is this:

 

70 a day plus 13 is 83 a day. for 7 day cruise thats 581 effectively coming off your cruise for just drinks alone and i cannot imagine paying 581 since i dont drink much booze . it does suck no water included. very strange! so if i get a haven room for 2100 is really only 1500. which is much easier to swallow given the benefits of the haven rooms. then back off the internet charge which i think is about 75 and the specialty meal is 75 and port discounts is 100. and thats down to 1250 for the haven room. not bad at all

Those promo terms change all the time as they adjust the contents, the ones above apply only to reservations made between the dates listed at top of the terms and currently there is additional offer running on top of that, so for reservations made today those terms do not apply - at least fully.

 

Link to T&C of any promo can be found at the bottom of that promo page, just look for text "Terms and conditions".

There is no "18% drink tax" anywhere. You are mixing two separate things, the service charges that is 18% of the retail price of the drink package (with this promo the charge is waived for full suites) and possible itinerary specific taxes that are charged per drink from everyone regardless of the existence of the drink package or cabin category.

Yes, overall the promo has been ongoing almost non-stop for over a year now, there are small changes almost every month (like what the exact promo items are besides the drink package) but the general structure has been the same.

Agree completely. I don't usually use a TA, but will use them going forward when booking Haven suites. For our upcoming cruise I originally booked directly with NCL, but after some conversation with frequent cruisers ended up transferring the reservation to a TA. For the same price as I would have paid NCL for the room and 4 perks (UBP, SDP, WiFi, ShoreEx) I got the same four perks, plus $500 OBC, plus they paid our DSC (~$600). So it was like getting six perks!

I feel the perks for the Haven was very miss leading. We booked under the assumtion that all shore excusions were free, all specialty restaraunts were free and unlimited wifi. I paid a fortune for what Inthought was included. Free is not the word Imthink of.

Different promos at different times. I booked a long time ago got UBP free beverage (no tax) UDP (old one) internet 250 minutes very clear in advertising and booking with travel agent. 75 port credit per port (up to 4) we have 3 ports and it can not be combined to be used all at once. Also clearly stated UDP and UBP are for guest #1 and #2 ....so I have to pay for my kids dinning plans.

i booked so have many questions regarding my haven spa room promos but will try to limit :)

 

i have 10 on board credits listed:

 

5 bucks, 10 bucks 25 spa credit etc etc.

 

why is this stuff here? is it just if you want to 'load up' your onboard account before you leave? if you just swipe your room card to pay for things, isnt that all charged to your CC on the last day of your trip? i just cannot understand the benefit of buying credit before i get on board.. i literally have no idea how much id be spending and with all 4 free promos. it will not be too much. i hope. guidance appreciated

 

how do things like the 4 SDP we get and the $50 port credits work. when the 90 day reservation window opens do i just book a dinner and it is zeroed out?

 

i'm also confused on the prepaid service charge and i dont want to wade into the pages of fighting in the other thread. but on the choices i now have on my account i see its a check box to add this or not. it was not even a choice when i booked. this assumes there IS a choice. yet from all i read we will be charged the 15.50 a day no matter what. my questions are:

 

will this be added no matter what for my final payment? (ie the checkbox is misleading)

 

is the haven restaurant included in this tipping or will 18% be added there?

 

in specialty dining promo, is the 18% 'paid for' with our free promo or will it be added on our bills?

 

i already asked this on another thread but cannot hurt to do so again. on the reservation it says 250 minutes but i wanted 1 gig of data on the phone. when do i choose this?

Luckyinpa, read the Terms and Conditions of the promo that you choose. Click on the promo page, scroll all the way to the bottom to find the T/C link. That will answer many of your questions.
