14 day cruise question

We are booked on a 14 day eurodam jan. 24. When we return to ft. Lauderdale after 7 days do we go through customs. Does everyone remain on the ship or do some passengers disembark utilizing just the first leg of the cruise? Do we get to bring another bottle of wine per person as we return to the ship in lauderdale?

Depends on the exact itinerary but if FLL is your first US port on the first 7 day portion, you will have to go through customs and immigration there (or wherever your first US port is) so that the ship can be cleared. It may well be done on board but you will have to attend before the ship is "cleared".

If you Google "/fll-turnaround-day-instructions-b2b-cruises/" you'll find a document describing the procedure from a year ago.

Have a great cruise! :)

I think you have actually booked what is commonly referred to as a "back to back" cruise.

In reality it is two separate cruises.

So, yes you will have to leave the ship, clear customs and immigration and re-board.

Most cruise lines let the back to back passengers go last, and board first.

Usually you get new cards and a new account.

You should be able to bring wine again, assuming you find a way to procure it 😀

We did your cruise in October.

Even if you visit Key West and then go back to Ft Lauderdale, you will have to go through immigration both in Key West and Ft Lauderdale.

If you decide to go out and about in Ft Lauderdale you will need to fill out the customs form to turn in after you go through immigration. Besides taking your passport, take your In Transit card so that after you return to the ship and go through security, you can get back on the ship more quickly.

No you can not buy anymore wine without paying the corkage fee.

We were fortunate enough that there were several hundred people staying over for a second cruise. Thus we reported to the show lounge for immigration. We waited there a little over an hour before the officials came on board and checked our passports.

If you do decide to get off the ship and leave the terminal, just make certain that you are back before 3:15 as you are required to go through the lifeboat drill again.

We just did a 14 day B2B on Nieuw Amsterdam. We were not required to leave the ship so we stayed on board. Everyone staying onboard did have to go to the Showroom to have their passports checked. Unless you change to a different stateroom, you do not have to go through the lifeboat drill a second time. We did not get new key cards.

e did a B@B@B a couple of years ago, Ft Lauderdale's Port Everglades was turnaround port. We got off to show our passports like a parade, but we stayed off in the terminal for a couple of hours because they had great free WiFi - just ask the reps where the best spots are! m--

We just did a back to back 14 days on the Nieuw Amsterdam. On the day in Fort Lauderdale we did not have to disembark. We did have to go to the showroom to submit our passports. No problem. We did not have to attend the life boat drill that day and could not bring on 2 more bottles of wine.
