Galveston embarkment

What time can you start dropping off checked bags? We are wanting to arrive as soon as we can park.

I would suggest arriving at the pier at about 10:00 am. Check your luggage at the pier, tip the porters about $5 a bag to make sure they make it to your cabin.

Head through security and you'll be in time for check-in. The ship usually starts boarding around 11:00 am. It's good to get there early because at noon everyone and his brother starts arriving and you'll be on board enjoying a nice lunch at the Lido Buffet.

they will begin letting people inside the gate around 930/10. but getting INSIDE the terminal to check in won't be until about 1030 or so.

we usually arrive to the off site lot about 1030 and by the time we park our car, load luggage on to the shuttle and take the shuttle over to the terminal its checking people in. boarding begins right around 1130 so we usually have minimal wait by doing it this way

I was there a few weeks ago. They are very strict about letting you in based on your check in time now. They are triple checking your boarding passes now to make sure you are going during your check in time. So you must keep it out the whole time while you are walking in from where you give porters your bags.

I've cruised primarily out of Galveston, however, do not have any experience with the new tiered boarding times out there. We typically board around 10:30 or 11:00 after a stroll around the strand. This gets us there late enough to miss the majority of the debarking passengers and put us towards the front of the line getting on - we're usually on the boat in about an hour after security and check in.
