uoftxchik Posted January 23, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 23, 2016 We are having an extremely difficult time picking an excursion for MoBay. I don't think we want to be in a bus/traffic for 1.5 hours to Dunn's River Falls or the like. We're a party of four adults 37, 42, 62 and 63. Suggestions? NoWhiners Posted January 25, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2016 Us too! At first I thought this might be fun but now I think we'd rather spend the time doing something, not sitting in a bus/traffic. I hope someone who has been there replies. Thx for posting this ML
uoftxchik Posted January 26, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted January 26, 2016 There will be 25k people in port the same day as us at MB, Ocho Rios and Falmouth too. We're thinking of going to an all-inclusive resort for the day. Maybe it will be less crowded?
uoftxchik Posted January 26, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted January 26, 2016 Check the post in this forum about the Juta taxi too. There is some good feedback about Dunn's. Thank you for responding!
JP350Z Posted January 26, 2016 #5 Share Posted January 26, 2016 The beaches by Ochos Rios aren't that nice anyway. A day pass at the Secrets Resort in Montego Bay is well worth the $100. It's only a stones throw from the ship and the water is fantastic. If you would like to spend less the SeaWind beach club is attached to the Secrets property and much less expensive for the day. However carnival buys out the whole beach club for excursions when in port.
uoftxchik Posted January 27, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted January 27, 2016 Thank you! We're very interested in Secrets but when I contacted the resort, they said day passes are not available through the resort. However, I've seen the passes for sale on shoreexcursioneer.com. The resort is aware those passes are available but will not confirm if they will be accepted. Have you purchased a day pass at Secrets before? JP350Z Posted January 27, 2016 #7 Share Posted January 27, 2016 No I have not bought a day pass there. But I stayed at Secrets for a week this year. That's a reputable reseller that I have heard of though. I met people there from the Carnival ships as they had it offered as a Carnival excursion. Attached is a link to my video shot there. ReggaeRoy Posted February 4, 2016 #9 Share Posted February 4, 2016 You might want to consider the humming bird sanctuary at Rocklands. It is about a 20 minute drive from the pier in Montego Bay. You basically sit in a chair and hold a bottle of sugar water. The humming birds will come and perch on your finger and sip the water. They will also take you on a short tour of their gardens. Combine that with a stop for lunch at the Pork Pit and you will have a nice day in Jamaica.
amypintx Posted February 7, 2016 #10 Share Posted February 7, 2016 We did the Extreme Ziplining excursion through Carnival last November and would definitely recommend it. We had my 9 year old son and 69 year old mom with us and they both enjoyed it as well. Here's my review: Extreme Ziplining.

christinakuehnel Posted February 15, 2016 #12 Share Posted February 15, 2016 Hi Amypintx, My daughter is 8 and has done a zip line in the past. For some reason she is a little scared to do this. About how high up from the ground would you say the platforms are? Thank you!

ABQrobin Posted February 16, 2016 #14 Share Posted February 16, 2016 Hi Amypintx, My daughter is 8 and has done a zip line in the past. For some reason she is a little scared to do this. About how high up from the ground would you say the platforms are? Thank you! I didn't think they were crazy high up. Yes, they are up though. You are always hooked in to a side rail until you take off. I felt very very safe.

ABQrobin Posted February 22, 2016 #16 Share Posted February 22, 2016 We booked through the ship. Not sure the logistics if you book independently. Sorry.
