Anyone Use Circa 39 (Hotel) in Miami?

Have sailed out of FLL many times, but normally fly in the day of sailing. In 322 days will be sailing out of Miami for the first time. Planning on flying in a couple days early and stay in Miami because A) Don't want to risk missing ship as this is DH's special 60th B-Day cruise, and B) this is my chance to check out Miami. I was checking out motels and came across Circa 39, an Art Deco hotel just north of South Beach. I like the fact that it appears near enough to check out S. Beach, without actually staying on S. Beach (We are kind of old; 55 & nearly 60, and are not heavy partiers) Would this be a good choice for us. Based on reviews on Trip Advisor I think the hotel will be okay, but how difficult to get to the cruise terminal would it be? Thanks for any help you can provide.

Getting to the cruise terminal would be easy. Just take a taxi. Maybe around $35.00 Fare or slightly more plus tip. About 30 minutes.
