Parking at NYC cruise terminal

No worries about rooftop parking at MCT for the BA sailing, very seldom do they run out of space (and they do have backup parking locations - don't ever recall anyone using it here on CC).

Best time to arrive is around 10 AM. No reservations needed nor given nor required, etc. East Coast departure forum has tons of info - here's one that's very useful, ideal for driving in from points north & east. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2057865&highlight=nyc+parking

Hi all,

Last year in November we took the cruise line sponsored bus from Worcester, while the trip to the pier was fine, we arrived about 12:30, the trip home was another story.

The bus that picks you up is the same one that drops passengers off, probably the earliest you can expect to see it is 12:30 or so.. We were not picked up until after 2:00pm, the original bus broke down shortly after leaving Braintree on its way to NY, then the bus driver got lost in the city. Needless to say the passengers arriving were not at all happy either, for the cost of parking in Worcester and two bus tickets I could have spent the same amount to park at the pier.

This year are plan is to drive and park at the pier, almost the same cost and far less hassle.

That's just my 2 cents!

NCL stopped the bus transfers early in 2016....

Holy crap..... so your bus ride home went NYC to Braintree to Worcester???? and probably several stops along the way!? Did you get home at midnight?

Oh no not that bad-the bus broke down leaving Braintree early that morning which made them late, then the bus driver got lost getting to the pier.

The bus picked us up after 2:00 and it seemed like we took a scenic ride through the city before getting on the highway, we got back to Worcester after 7:30 that evening.

Checked website and don't have any now. When did you cruise? Do you know when they usually have them?

They haven't had a coupon on the website for about a year. When they had the coupon, it was for cruises on the Gem only.

From time to time some people have posted a link to something that looks like the coupon that used to be on the website, but there's no guarantee that the parking people will accept it, as quite frankly it's not really published by the parking vendor at the terminal.

Hello! We are sailing on the Breakaway in mid July and are planning to park at the Manhattan terminal pier, but they don't take reservations - has anyone had the issue where the parking lot was full or is there plenty of parking? About what time did you arrive? Thank you in advance for your insight!! :)

Most people don't park, so there are always plenty of spots.
