bobby'sgirl Posted January 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 26, 2016 Hi. I am in process of planning this cruise next Feb on HAL. Looking for suggestions for clothing as temps will be hot and cold over the two weeks. Thx
Hoyaheel Posted January 26, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 26, 2016 Layers that can be mixed & matched! Pick a palette and have fun. The blog "Vivienne Files" has a great packing series where she shows cooler/warmer combos of the same few pieces of clothing. Here is one example - she has MANY on the blog, various colors & levels of formality: http://www.theviviennefiles.com/2015/05/how-to-pack-light-uncertain-weather-and.html
Rare Keith1010 Posted January 26, 2016 #3 Share Posted January 26, 2016 I've done this one several times and you really need to layer. Brazil will be hot as weill Chile. As you go further south it will be cold and windy and could be rainy from time to time and even a little bit of snow. I recommend hat, gloves, scarf, water proof jacket with hood and waterproof pants and clothing underneath to keep you warm including a fleece or sweater or both. Sports shoes are fine. The itinerary is absolutely wonderful. Keith
La Gitana Posted February 12, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 12, 2016 We did a similar cruise a few years ago. You will go from hot, humid summers to a very cold few days going around the Cape. Have a hat, gloves and a lightweight down jacket ready--you won't want to miss the glaciers and going through the Straits of Magellan. Don't worry about what you will look like--this trip is an adventure. And a challenge for packing as well.
