DaveOKC Posted January 30, 2016 #1 Share Posted January 30, 2016 I have a BB guarantee, but my cruise just opened up the BC category (its after final payment) for the first time and there are a couple of cabins I would like. I know its sounds a bit crazy, but I would rather have a specific cabin in the BC category than take my chances with a BB or even higher BA category (many of these are below the pool area). Has anyone done this before? I am not looking for a lower price, as I understand we are past final payment. Suggestions? I am planning on calling my PCC Monday morning, but wanted some ideas/thoughts before then.
Louise sail Posted January 30, 2016 #2 Share Posted January 30, 2016 I did this when sailing on the Ryndam the BA we liked had been downgraded to a BC we had a BB guarantee. We told HAL we were happy with what we paid but prefered the BC they accommodated us.Good luck. DaveOKC Posted February 1, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted February 1, 2016 UPDATE - Talked to my PCC this morning and got assigned to a BC like I wanted to. Worked out great! Now just a few steps to the Seaview pool area, stairway/elevator and one deck to the Lido. Plus, no worry about being under the pool area (for noise issues). RuthC Posted February 1, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 1, 2016 Good going! May I be so crass as to ask if there was any differential given as OBC? (Not that I think there should have been, since it was your idea.)

DaveOKC Posted February 1, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted February 1, 2016 (edited) Good going! May I be so crass as to ask if there was any differential given as OBC? (Not that I think there should have been, since it was your idea.) Same price. I had already gotten a great deal IMO with Explore4 and $300 in EXTRA OBC from a second promotion (total $600 OBC for the cabin), so I figured I was not going to get more. At the time I booked, the BC cabins were not available, but they opened them up just after final payment. My BB cabins were a bit higher priced and still only offered as a guarantee.
