Belle Posted February 4, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2016 Welcome to the "new" people here today Glad for all the "old" posters here I say New or old we all go for the gold Want the numbers to go down and stay on hold Stay on hold till they go down again Every Thursday we weigh and then a new week to begin What food are you eating to get your loss Meat, veggies and a salad to toss What exercises to you do..weights or go for a walk This is what we all should be doing or are we just all talk We know this is a way of life not a diet for just awhile Even if we're doing this for a wedding or a cruise down the Nile We do this week after week and try to smile Even after we've given up sugar and walk many miles So good morning, afternoon or evening whenever you come in here Hope you have a good weigh-in and if want to talk ..we hear So come in everyday and talk it does help you get eating straight When talking (typing) in here.. not eating..then losing weight Tip of the day...Have food prepared ahead of time so you have something healthy to grab and eat when hungry and tired. shootr Posted February 4, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 4, 2016 Good Morning Belle - great words to kick off the week! Yep, prepping food ahead of time has been huge for me. Crockpot chicken, enough for plenty of leftovers, bags of lettuce in the fridge, a bottle of V-8 for a quick craving crusher - stuff like this helps me pass the "good" snacks (almost always :o) After 51 years, I've finally learned to like unsweetened ice tea - so that's my carry-around beverage during the day (along with a bottle of water) instead of iced coffee (heck of a lot cheaper to!) Road trips are still challenging, but I pack a bag of plain popcorn, a couple apples, and a couple beef sticks so I can bypass the mini-mart temptations and get home after a long day with under 700 calories before dinner. Right at 177 this morning, sweet! This is the first week I stayed off the scale for an entire week (I usually peek several times) and just trusted I was going to be OK. I'm only 2 weeks away from a full year of daily calorie/exercise tracking without a miss and even though I had a birthday cheat day, I kept up with some exercise and good days of eating to stay the same as last week. Great to see so many new folks, hope these weekly check-in's can be useful to you all as it has been for me. If you need anything, just holler. Have a good week! fam2cruise Posted February 4, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 4, 2016 Good morning, my first check in after joining you guys...happy to report 3lbs lost!!!! I'm so shocked. Makes me realize I CAN do this!! So I've cut out soda for water and Hatomugi (unsweetened) tea. Walking every day so far, just 20 minutes but it feels great! I've been having cottage cheese and fruit or boiled eggs with pesto for breakfast, salad and shrimp or salad and a frozen "lean" meal for lunch. Dinner is harder since I cook for the family, but trying to control portions mostly and add more veggies. Not too bad so far.
winewanderer Posted February 4, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 4, 2016 Hello, Back from my cruise. I only gained 1 lb. Was a bit under the weather for part of it. Fortunately, once we were on the Hawaii islands I felt much better and enjoyed the trip. Glad we have some new people. Fam, great loss! Have a good week everyone. TornWonder Posted February 4, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 4, 2016 Good afternoon, another busy week for me. Down 1 pound so I'm pleased. Took a break from the gym this week, just did some quick 15 minute walks when I had some spare time. I definitely agree with the preparing of food. I like to make big batches on the weekend and portion it out so I know how much I'm eating every day and it helps me avoid temptation.

fam2cruise Posted February 7, 2016 #9 Share Posted February 7, 2016 So I made up "dip and chips" for snacking today, but not the traditional options. 1 cup nonfat Greek yogurt + 2 Tbsp onion soup mix and then the same but with ranch mix. Served with carrot chips, satisfies that craving! Been out running around with the kids, exercise enough. Will be grilling up cheeseburgers for dinner but using very lean beef and lots of veggies. Just trying to make better choices!
