abbflex Posted February 12, 2016 #26 Share Posted February 12, 2016 We were on January 10-17 and the Seaview Cafe seemed to be a Wok restaurant serving Asian food. We didn't investigate further, but didn't notice anything being complimentary. It seemed to be a for-a-fee dining option. Does it have a solarium cafe/pizzeria now? And what kind of food does they serve in the solarium on jewel?

Susie51 Posted February 12, 2016 #30 Share Posted February 12, 2016 We did the other itinerary in January. The meals in the WJ were great and the officer in charge was so friendly.

CruisesOnMyMind Posted February 12, 2016 #34 Share Posted February 12, 2016 (edited) I believe the dry dock is April 3 to April 24. Now that is good news. Looks like it will be done after the April 20th cruise. Looking forward to the brightly new refurbished Jewel. Will miss Seaview Cafe and Portifono's though. Just noticed there is no named "R Bar" on the new deck plans......but it's just a name as the bar is already there!!! sofietucker Posted February 13, 2016 #35 Share Posted February 13, 2016 What were the productions shows? Thanks There was City of Dreams, West End to Broadway, and one we can't remember the title... Best singers are Luke & Wendy; dancers all quite good but best are Valencia and ___ (Asian guy! Ballet!) In the show room were also "adult" comedian Jeff ___ and Dan Wilson, "best entertainer at sea"; we missed his show. They had a Newlywed Game & so forth one night, also had similar games from time to time in the Centrum (got rowdy there). Centrum had a quite a wild disco party the last night--with all the show dancers mixing in. Bring your blinky/glowgear. Most late nights there was also a live-band (Coco Loco) Latin Fiesta, either in the Centrum or by the pool: salsa, merengue, conga lines, etc. Great fun. Nice rock-pop quartet (Remedy) in the Centrum too. Solo tropical music guitarist kept everyone cool at the pool. Dance lessons of all sorts, every day. Just to watch their fab dancing, check out entertainment staffers Allison (short brown hair) and Enzo (tall skinny blondish). Plus they had 2-3 kinds of trivia every day (NFL! ABBA! etc.) along with a progressive competition. Okay, a lil more than you asked for...
Dave4120 Posted February 13, 2016 #36 Share Posted February 13, 2016 The ship will be out of dry dock on the 24th of April then do a a 3 or 4 night cruise first, then our transatlantic cruise that leaves on April 28th. Very excited to be on almost new ship with a cabin at the back. RCCL says every room will be brand spankin new.

CanadaRob Posted February 13, 2016 #38 Share Posted February 13, 2016 That would be surprising. 😀😀 Bob, you make me laugh at least 3x a day. My wife always wonders what is so funny and by the time I explain it to her.....doesn't seem as funny, I guess she had to be there....
