Would it be worth $1400. pp to upgrade from an E2 to a D? We spend a lot of time in our cabin and on the balcony. This is for a 16 night TA and we need to decide today. Never been on Royal, only on Celebrity.

Really appreciate any help!

No way, would not be worth it to me. The size is just not that much different. I would not even upgrade from a balcony to a JS for $3200.

There is hardly any difference at all. NO WAY. You're probably just seeing a general overall price increase from when you booked, not that much difference now between the two if you checked both at todays prices?

As long as you already have a balcony, stick with it. We love our balcony and have had both rooms and we do like to spend some time there. The biggest difference we find is the full size sofa or the love seat size....and the cabin is a bit longer, but not worth that difference.

Both cabins are nice and we've also had the E cabins forward.....they have a bigger, square balcony!

I would try to get one of the larger balcony E2 cabins on forward and rear jump section which should be at the same cost. We've had both categories on Radiance class ships and those large balcony E1 and E2 cabins are nicer in our opinion.

Another no here--and anotehr vote to try for those forward E1s with the bigger balcony.

There are photos and descriptions of both cabin types on my blog post from a few years ago, which is here:

Perhaps that might help.
