Mighty Ships Episode of the Building of the Breakaway is Airing on Friday, Feb 26

I was just searching for a show to watch and stumbled across this listing. It's called Norwegian Breakaway: The Build. It's airing on the Smithsonian Channel (SMTHD) on Friday at 6:00 p.m. Pacific time--at least on my cable provider, it is.

 

Just thought it would be of interest to some. I have it set to record even though I've never been on the Breakaway and am not planning to sail her anytime soon. :o

Also, look for the second episode which is The Journey (I think) about the crossing from Southampton to New York.

They showed it on the big screen on the Getaway on our Jan 2015 sailing. It was also playing in the staterooms on one of the tv channels. It's amazing how they piecemeal these ships in sections!

I recorded this last night and am watching it now. Really interesting!

 

The next episode is airing on March 8. It's called Norwegian Breakaway: The Voyage. I've set it to record, but I'll be on the Epic so viewing it will have to wait. :D

i watched both of these and putting aside the mandatory dramatics with 'must finish by' a certain date, thought it was very good. would be cool if they had this as demand options on board.

 

i also did not know all the engines arent used but thats great there are some spares in there
