sunseeker1258 Posted February 19, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 19, 2016 We disembark in Mintreal then have a few hours until our flight. Is there anywhere to store luggage so we can explore?
Jolie_Cruiser Posted February 19, 2016 #2 Share Posted February 19, 2016 (edited) Close to the port (Iberville Maritime Terminal) there are 2 places where you can leave your luggage: the Montreal Central Bus Station and the Montreal Central Rail Station. The bus station may not be convenient because you have to buy a bus ticket. Here is info. about the rail station: The "Gare Centrale" (rail station) Address: 895 de la Gauchetière West To get there: 10 minutes cab drive, 20 minutes walk (underground through the Réso feasible in case of inclement weather). Good map with other links: https://www.quebecoriginal.com/en/listing/tourist-organizations-and-transportation/bus/bus-and-rail-stations/gare-centrale-de-montreal-4449535 Some good info. also on the Trip Advisor thread. Dated, so I would give Via Rail a call: http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g155032-i51-k5133037-Luggage_storage_at_Montreal_train_station-Montreal_Quebec.html#38527423 Edited February 19, 2016 by Jolie_Cruiser

Rare Keith1010 Posted February 20, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 20, 2016 Give yourself plenty of time to get to the airport. Traffic from port to the airport can make for a long ride. Keith
sail7seas Posted February 20, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 20, 2016 The terminal is easy walk to nice area of Old Montreal. If you can store your bags in cruise terminal, a nice walk would give you a little taste.

Therefore terminal activities will be relocated to a temporary terminal for 2016. But, good news, there will be a luggage consignment service for cruisers in front of Alexandra Pier. sail7seas Posted February 26, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 26, 2016 For anyone planning to arrive by taxi to the terminal, be absolutely sure to write down exactly the address. We rode taxis many times back to the ship from our day ashore in Montreal and never once had a taxi driver that had a clue where we wanted to go. I learned to carry a map and to write precisely the address or we'd still be riding around Montreal. :D
Jolie_Cruiser Posted February 26, 2016 #8 Share Posted February 26, 2016 How many years ago was that ....I know that for the last few years, every year, the port authority organises an orientation session for the taxi drivers and the turnout is good. I am sure they will do the same this year. This being said, the temporary terminal is new this year, so bringing the coordinates is not a bad idea. And please, lets not turn this thread into a taxi ranting thread, there is enough of this on CC...

Jolie_Cruiser Posted February 26, 2016 #10 Share Posted February 26, 2016 My pleasure. Not a single taxi driver we ever encountered could get us back to the terminal without finally my DH learning the route and telling the driver where to turn etc Our last visit there was about 2 years ago. My DH passed away and I have not been back since. I would not have posted any more about the taxis but you asked. If am merely answering the question you presented.
