UConn Women's basketball fan here. They had a game scheduled on ESPN scheduled while on the Silly on December. I figured ESPN is ESPN right? Nope. Totally different programming. And yes, I remembered the time change. We had internet so I double-checked everything on the UConn site. I was so sad :(

March madness is tough until you get to the sweet sixteen as they obviously cannot have all the games on TV. You probably get 2 of the 8 channels for the first couple rounds. We found until the final 4 only in our room or at one of the bars.

I sailed on Silhouette in October. Sports could be found on the TVs in the casino (NFL Football) and also in the bar behind the main stairway on Deck 5 (Rugby/Soccer). NCAA Basketball might not always be available. One option might be to watch via streaming on your computer, but be warned -- internet speeds onboard are ridiculously slow.

Not what you asked to hear, but I would not watch March Madness on a cruise, especially first week. The round the clock 10 am till late night nonstop games, streaming on line and on 4 TV channels so can watch everything, mandates having reliable cable/satellite TV and internet with no distractions. Last few years I've taken off work and check into a hotel. Hard to know how I could do this on a cruise.

We were on the Star Princess in 07--we went into the closest thing they had to a sports bar (small pub). They were able to get the games for us--but it was a very very odd feed. The only audio we got was from the announcers box--we would hear their commentary, but also everything during commercials (which we didn't see)

We have had issues seeing bowl games--I think we always got them eventually, but international ESPN is always more available/more likely. BUT if you ask (especially early in the week so they have time to investigate)
