satxdiver Posted February 28, 2016 #51 Share Posted February 28, 2016 A friend of ours wasn't even allowed into the captain's club evening cocktail hours for elites and above when wearing a nice pair of shorts and a collared shirt. I hadn't realized that rule existed but it makes sense to me -- they are pre-dinner cocktails so the dress code is similar. So, no shorts allowed other than in the buffet for dinnertime. Princess has the Captain's Circle party for gold and above members. The invite clearly states the approved attire which means no shorts, tshirts etc. It appears they were enforcing it. Considering they are giving away free libations and food nibbles, it is not asking too much.
jennybenny Posted February 28, 2016 #52 Share Posted February 28, 2016 Never at dinner, but at breakfast or lunch, absolutely have seen it.

The enforcement at the Captains Circle party is enforced about as well as it is in the dining room, maybe even less so but shorts & T shirts might be pushing it a bit. The food nibbles have been eliminated as well as some of the old standard drinks that were terrible & replaced by some that look prettier but are even worse. ;)
kendon Posted February 28, 2016 #54 Share Posted February 28, 2016 Perhaps the people who were wearing shorts for many nights had their luggage lost and it missed the ship?Just a possibility as I have had table mates at ATD who had no proper dining room clothes for 3-4 days before their luggage finally arrived. We've seen that before.

floridalover5623 Posted February 28, 2016 #56 Share Posted February 28, 2016 You meant to say only on the Emerald, right? Yes, the Emerald, but I read where other ships as well have eliminated them also. As I recall they did have them on the Royal last Nov but I'm not really sure since I never touch them. I like real food. :D
