Smoke free night in casino?

I know that Princess has a smoke free night in the casino (usually formal night). I can't remember, does Carnival?

Sailed Princess last September and did not see a smoke free night.

 

Carnival does not care. Even in the non smoking "sections", that are a joke, Carnival allows smoking.

We have always had smokefree nights on Princess. But I am sure I will still manage to play a few machines even with the smoke...just can't stay long and sometimes not at all.

It used to depend on the Casino host.

Years ago the Paradise out of CA would have a smoking Casino on the three day and non-smoking on the four day.

 

Now it's the only indoor smoking area.

I enjoyed having the smoke free nights on RC and Princess. I doubt you will see this on Carnival. Loss of revenue. I haven't even seen a true nonsmoking section. Just a few nonsmoking machines mixed in with the smoking ones. I don't know why the can't have a true nonsmoking area. Smoke would still drift over there but maybe you could breath. I read on here that they are trying out a new ventilation system on the Conquest. I'm sailing on her in April and hoping for the best!

The smoke in Carnival casinos has gotten worse since Carnival stopped balcony smoking. All the smokers come to the casino to smoke and it gets pretty thick. If you go early in the morning, like around 7AM on a sea day, it's not so bad until the smokers get up and head to the casino to get their morning smoke.

They have a totally useless smoking policy in the casino. Non smoking machines mixed in with the smoking machines. If we could only train the smoke.

It will NEVER happen on Carnival. They believe it is not harmful. Another reason we sail Princess.

Just got off the Carnival Glory. The casino is the smoking lounge for smokers.

The smoke was so bad, it burned your eyes, a lot of smokers standing in groups or sitting and not playing the slot machines. The Black Jack tables near the doors where fresh air comes in are not bad, but when a smoker shows up at the table, most players leave. Carnival should have Non Smoking tables. You would think that Carnival would cater to the 95% Non Smokers and that would have more customers use the casino and bring in much more revenue.

Well, apparently we smokers spend more money than 95% non smokers or it would be smoke free.:rolleyes: I doubt your statement about gamblers leaving a table. They know smoking is allowed when they sit down there.

Smoke residue in the casino is often dependent on the time of year someone cruises and the make-up of the passengers on a particular cruise. Choose spring break on a ship or the summer months that cater to children and the casino can be virtually empty and those playing are pretty much evenly divided between smokers and non-smokers.

 

Cruise when the passenger count is typically "adult" and the casino can be full of smokers.

 

There are trade-offs during every season. Don't like kids, deal with smokers. Of course this is an observation based only on my experiences, but the pattern seems to hold true for the cruises I have taken.

If Carnival has a separate ROOM for Non-Smokers, they would soon be complaining that the Smoking Room has better machines, more JP hits and Lord knows what than the Non Smoking Room.:rolleyes:

 

Just like when it was posted very early on about the casino becoming the smoke haven when the right to smoke on your balcony was taken away. People didn't care so much about a smokey casino then, they just wanted a smoke-free balcony. Now that they have it, time to find something else to complain about.

 

I just really wished that Carnival would have made some of the Aft balconys smoking and at least given us an option instead of the boot:eek:.

 

Maybe HAL will be better suited for me.
