Bars on Britannia

Hi

 

Quick question from a newbie. Are the bars on board Britannia waiter serviced or do you order drinks from the bar. Also do they run up a bill for the evening and then settling up or is each individual round put on your cruise card.

 

It matters not either way but just curious :)

All bars waiter service. Each drink / round of drinks your cruise card is swiped and you sign receipt for drinks and you keep a paper copy of drinks purchased.

If a bar is quiet, an indoor bar during the day, for example, then you can order at the bar, but in the evening/at busier times they prefer you to use the waiter service. Either way they still swipe your cruise card and give you a receipt.

when being served in a busy bar make sure you get the right cruise card back

myself & two other passengers had to grab the waiter who had served us

to get our card back ,he had about 20 cards on his tray. this was in brodies bar on

xmas eve.have a great cruise

I always sit up at the bar and the barman serves me. If you go and stand there you may be asked to take a seat and someone will attend to you.

Brodies has a very large bar with stools to sit at.

I am more of a stand at the bar sort of man but in this instance I will be in mixed company so will be sitting at a table. :)

Do not only make sure you get the right one back but if you are given the wrong card make sure the correct drinks have been added to your bill. It happened to us once and didnt think anymore of it just told waiter and he gave me back right card. When I checked my statement at a later time noticed I had been charged for a full round of drinks costing nearly £30 instead of the 2 coffees we had ordered. In true P&O style they made a big issue of it and made it very difficult to get the price of the drinks taken off our bill.
