Mrs.C05 Posted March 2, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted March 2, 2016 Have a good time. We did this route on Spirit mid-Dec. Do you have any ?s? There are a couple reviews since by other folks. Aren't you going to Grand Cayman? Yes, we'll go to Grand Cayman, Ocho Rios, GSC, and Costa Maya. I have seen some reviews but they aren't so great so I plan to do one myself in full detail hoping it helps others going on this cruise ship. We have our excursions planned already so that is all completed. Our 4 year old will be with us so I hope there are kid activities for him. We have a balcony stateroom which we usually get on other cruise lines. Do you know anything about the kids camp? *Sent on Cruisecritic app*
bydefault Posted March 2, 2016 #5 Share Posted March 2, 2016 Let us know anything cool you do on the 3 non-US stops. We've been to Key West a long time ago but we've never been to the 3 other stops. Hope you have a great time and post plenty of pictures! Cheers! Drew

Do you know anything about the kids camp? *Sent on Cruisecritic app* We didn't take our kids the last trip so we didn't check it out. They do have the cool pirate pool in the back though with the tiered seating and a bar a couple floors up. There are exits on most of the decks around the pool deck aft that will get you back there quickly. Some of them are almost hidden. Tendering for GC and GSC was a grumbling point for some people and the lines looked pretty long from what we could tell. They had both hard packed ice cream - there is a little dessert station in the buffet or a soft serve machine just to the port side of that area. It was very "soft" though so you may want to get a bowl for it if it is the same as when we were on. Don't forget to go to the "secret" bridge viewing room down the circular stars in the front lounge on the left side near the front.

We went to the one with the larger water slide complex and it was pretty fun and reasonable. Well organized too in terms of pickup and dropoff. Hamerson Posted March 3, 2016 #8 Share Posted March 3, 2016 We are bringing our 2 Year old on the 3/19 Cruise! Would you mind taking some pictures of the kids area? I have seen pictures of the pools but wonder what the inside kids area looks like and what type of activities they offer. Everytime I try and find pictures, it is just the same one. Thanks and enjoy your cruise!
IluvZ Posted March 4, 2016 #9 Share Posted March 4, 2016 (edited) We have been on the Spirit three times with our DS, at ages 4, 6, and 9. So I can probably answer any specific questions you have about their programs and the ship itself. Make sure you take time to find the old lion cages. The ship was previously called the Super Star Leo and had a live lion show. Must of the cages are dressing rooms for the cast but you can see the outside cages. hockeyluver Posted March 4, 2016 #10 Share Posted March 4, 2016 Don't forget to go to the "secret" bridge viewing room down the circular stars in the front lounge on the left side near the front. What deck is this on? One week until we head out for our first cruise on NCL figured it was time to check out the other lines. :)
IluvZ Posted March 4, 2016 #11 Share Posted March 4, 2016 What deck is this on? One week until we head out for our first cruise on NCL figured it was time to check out the other lines. :) It is on the back of the ship, but I can't remember the deck. It is directly behind the theater. It's a great question to ask the officers. They all know the story and usually are happy to share the secret with you. One week until we head out for our first cruise on NCL figured it was time to check out the other lines. :) You go into the Galaxy of the Stars on Deck 12 way at the front and it is in the front, left corner and then you take the stairs down to 11. Sorry I did tell you wrong. It is in the front. That is what happens when you rely on a 11 year old to help with the answer. :)

dexddd Posted March 5, 2016 #15 Share Posted March 5, 2016 (edited) LOL i was a bit confuzed there for a minute thanks for the info !! :p Yeah, it would be kind of odd to have the bridge viewing room in the back of the ship. They close it off at night supposedly and during docking. I should add there is a "secret" area in the casino. Walk in and just keep going straight and you can enter a lounge type area that not many people tend to spend much time in. Bunch of funky chairs and loungers.
