Classification of Cabins

We are booked in a balcony cabin classified as 2A on the Eclipse in July. Can anyone explain how cabins are classified between 1 abc to 2 abc etc?

Why might it be worth it to pay substantially more for balcony cabin elsewhere on the ship? - I take it balcony cabins are all the same size and have the same features.

Thanks

Never have I been in a bad cabin on a Celebrity ship. People steer clear of the 2D and even the 2C cabins on deck 6. I think they are very conveniently located ... and now even kind of prefer them.

The cabins are all the same size ... some have larger balcony areas if located on the hump but even some of those are in the lower priced categories.

Just give me a key to the stateroom door and am usually happy as can be.
