Pinkchocolatecrystal4 Posted March 9, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2016 I'm unsuccessful in locating any info/pics of an inside cabin on the Jewel setup to sleep 4. Is there a Pullman bunk or does the big bed have to be separated and have a Pullman on each side of the room? I'm sailing 4/17 first time with kids and just want to be prepared. Demonyte Posted March 9, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2016 If I'm not mistaken, the setup will be one pulldown and one trundle bed on the floor making the three beds there completely wall-to-wall.
NancyL2 Posted March 9, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 9, 2016 I can not even begin to imagine four people in one of Jewel's inside cabins. They would be tight for one person.
dexddd Posted March 9, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 9, 2016 The setup should be as described as above. I have not seen a two bed on the wall setup on a Jewel Class ship - not to say there aren't any, but just haven't seen any over the years. What room are you in? The Inside Suite is a great cabin for two only with the UBP! Four in this suite is not recommended! Bon Voyage!
Rare mking8288 Posted March 9, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 9, 2016 (edited) This is the Gem's OV porthole, very similar to Jewel's inside - with beddings for 4 (difference being that there's "less" space in the middle to move around) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/64025118/NCL%20Gem%202012%20Photos/SDC10324.JPG Two single beds formed the queen bed, we moved ours against one side of the wall. There's a pullman bed that swing/drop down for 3rd. pax, ladder is at the end of the bed. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/64025118/NCL%20Gem%202012%20Photos/SDC10335.JPG If there's a 4th. person (or 3rd. person don't want to climb up or down) - the trestle bed normally stored under one of the single bed is pulled out & raised, alongside the other 2 beds - in essence, an oversized king bed that sleep 3 adults - very cozy (parents with a child, etc.) https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/64025118/NCL%20Gem%202012%20Photos/SDC10495.JPG https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/64025118/NCL%20Gem%202012%20Photos/SDC10573-Quad%20Beds.jpg This was our post-Sandy Gem sailing out of NYC with the Nor-easter storm, we had a great submarine view of the raging seas & waves for 12+ hours during mostly the overnight hours on day 1. My recollection from over 10+ years ago was that the Dawn have a small number of inside sideway cabins: 2 pullman beds, one on either side of the wall - don't recall seeing any YT videos or pictures posted. stleda124 Posted March 9, 2016 #7 Share Posted March 9, 2016 I have done three in an inside cabin and it was very cramped. It didn't ruin our cruise but it made things more difficult that it needed to be. Also, with NCL's current promotion, I think it would make more $$ sense to break into two separate rooms so you all can have a promotional offer. Just my opinion. Pinkchocolatecrystal4 Posted March 10, 2016 Author #8 Share Posted March 10, 2016 In the room it will be me, DH, and kids age 6 and 3. 2 rooms isn't feasible plus we are at 35 days til sailing. I may try to upgrade us
SPB in da RVA Posted March 10, 2016 #9 Share Posted March 10, 2016 We sailed the Jewel in 2011 in an inside with three of us. There was bedding for a 4th. Two standard beds and two pullman beds. I do not think they will (or at least they do not like to) push the two standard beds together to make a one larger bed if the cabin is fully occupied. We were on deck 8 forward port.
