xray Posted March 15, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2016 We have booked a "hump" cabin D2 Deck 6 on the Allure and would like to see some pics of the balcony. We have sailed the Allure in a regular balcony cabin Deck 8 but have never seen a pic of or from one of these. The exact cabin will be 7594. Thanks,
hapster85 Posted March 15, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 15, 2016 (edited) Unless they've moved it, cabin 7594 isn't on deck 6. [emoji12] And unless I'm misunderstanding what people call the hump, 7594 isn't on it. Edited March 15, 2016 by hapster85
xray Posted March 15, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted March 15, 2016 OPPS...my mistake, I meant Deck 7. Thanks for correcting me. XRAY
hapster85 Posted March 15, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 15, 2016 My mistake, too. That cabin IS on the hump. Dunno what I was looking at the first time. Lol
brady.bunch Posted March 17, 2016 #5 Share Posted March 17, 2016 I dont have any pics but from the research I've done for our upcoming cruise in a "hump" room it just means you get the extended (front to back, not side to side) balcony. http://www.icruise.com/cabins/royal-caribbean-cruises-allure-of-the-seas-cabin-7594.html

Kmermaid Posted March 17, 2016 #10 Share Posted March 17, 2016 Thanks for your reply Jonbdg. Scheduled our 1st cruise ever for next Feb on the Allure. We have a cabin on the hump so this post interested me. So they took away the 2 chairs and small table and replaced it with one lounger?
jagsfan Posted March 17, 2016 #11 Share Posted March 17, 2016 We have the same balcony, and I'm glad to see how deep it is, and would love a lounger. I just wish the loungers weren't so low. I can't ever get back up from them. Too bad they don't have lounger mattress pads for old ladies with bad knees. cb at sea Posted March 17, 2016 #12 Share Posted March 17, 2016 While the balcony on those "hump" cabins are deeper than most...they are no wider. A lounger will be in shade most of the time...so if sunning is what you want, it's going to be quite limited. Sunning is best done on the pool or upper decks!

The Sunset Glow Posted March 18, 2016 #16 Share Posted March 18, 2016 We have a hump cabin(s) on Oasis 4/1. I am happy to see a normal height table on the balcony. :-) All balcony categories on the Oasis class ships have regular height tables. It's a nice feature for sure. Those low tables are basically useless.
The Grumpus Posted March 18, 2016 #17 Share Posted March 18, 2016 Here's 7596, right next door. It's a great spot!
kalliekae Posted March 18, 2016 #18 Share Posted March 18, 2016 We were in cabin 8640 on the hump, but it was a JS. It had 2 loungers and a table with 2 chairs. Loved that cabin and would definitely book it again. Some days, it was pretty hot on the balcony so there was no shade.

xray Posted March 18, 2016 Author #20 Share Posted March 18, 2016 Thanks to all that replied with the great information and pics. I was hoping to get a lounger instead of a chair because of a bad back problem that limits sitting upright for more than a half hour. Also, being 6'4" that extra footage is nice when not wanting to go up to the pools or solarium. I may contact the special needs department and see about the lounger. If not, I'll make sure I have a $10 bill ready for the cabin attendant. XRAY
saphir Posted March 18, 2016 #21 Share Posted March 18, 2016 Here are pics from deck 8 hump on Oasis. Ours had the balcony divider open to the next one. Can you close the divider? It is not very private? I have booked a large balcony on Harmony and i want a divider.....
The Grumpus Posted March 18, 2016 #22 Share Posted March 18, 2016 Can you close the divider? It is not very private? I have booked a large balcony on Harmony and i want a divider.....Oh, yes. They are all closed when you board and only opened upon request. They probably had friends or family next door and asked the stateroom attendant to open the divider. The only other time I've seen them open is on occasion the staff opens a group of them to power-wash the glass railing. They warn you though. We actually had family members in 3 cabins in a row on the hump and asked for the dividers to be open. They are normally closed.
cpayne Posted April 25, 2016 #25 Share Posted April 25, 2016 What about the D8 balconies that "transition" to the hump such as 7590 and 7190? They appear to have an ever so slight larger balcony, but at the D8 price? Anyone have any input on this?
