Sundowner15 Posted March 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2016 Our itinerary says Amalfi - Does this mean we dock at Amalfi or a port nearby. I'm looking to book a tour but can't seen to find the starting point. Any tour recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you in advance
excitedofharpenden Posted March 25, 2016 #2 Share Posted March 25, 2016 You will anchor at Amalfi and catch a tender boat. Hopefully on your way there from Sicily Captain Johannes will be able to take you past volcano Stromboli in the dark to see it spewing lava. It's a memorable sight. Lottie A Posted March 25, 2016 #3 Share Posted March 25, 2016 We have often used Aldolimo's.....just google them, for great tours along the beautiful Amalfi Drive. Sorrento, Ravello, Positano and Amalfi itself are all highlights. I love Ravello with its beautiful gardens and incredible views out over the bay. Pasquale from Aldolimo's is great fun.....and very easy on the eye too! You could get the hydrofoil over to Capri too, it is lovely, but prepare for it to be very crowded and rather touristy. We had lunch in a great family restaurant in the hills above Positano a couple of years ago but I can't remember the name of it. You can ask your driver for recommendations because they do know the genuine Italian places and they won't rip you off.
Sundowner15 Posted March 25, 2016 Author #4 Share Posted March 25, 2016 Thank you Phil, I can make plans now. I'll also make sure I look out for Stromboli, sounds wonderful.
Sundowner15 Posted March 25, 2016 Author #5 Share Posted March 25, 2016 Lottie A. Great information, many thanks. I have been in touch with Aldolimo's, I'm sure they will come back to me with an interesting itinerary. I look forward to meeting Pasquali :)

mara01 Posted March 26, 2016 #8 Share Posted March 26, 2016 We have used Pleasant Travel twice, once in Sorrento and again in Amalfi. We found this firm to be very good and reliable. (Pleasantravel.com). Mariano was very quick at responding to our emails. We had a driver plus a female guide both times (in Amalfi she was Mariano's niece) and both tours were excellent.
