Lunch upon embarcation

In fact, if your room isn't ready yet (and if you are on the early side most likely it won't be) they will send you Terrace. (Waves is on the pool deck just outside of the buffet restaurant.)

For us, the port of embarkation is typically also a destination. We always do lunch, of local cuisine, in town and miss all the people lugging around their carryons bumping into you and everything else. Show up to the ship around 3-4 and easy embarkment and straight to the readied room to drop bags and then to the bar!

I'm a professed dirty old man and this is Spring Break season in Miami. I'd always do lunch on South Beach, watching all the hard bodies go by, in lieu of showing up to the ship early for just a buffet! :p

Greetings, pinotlover, from South of Fifth, South Beach. If you are planning for massive exposure to Spring Break on South Beach, you'd better hurry. The crowds thin out right about now. Of course, there is no universal calendar, so there is always a supply of eye candy. For plastic surgery fans, South Beach is a living catalog of what is available. Some jobs are so good, one has to suppress the impasse to ask for the surgeon's card. I also get that impulse when I see spectacular failures, of which there are quite a few.

South Beach has some excellent restaurants that serve lunch. As a specialist. you probably have your favorites already. The best views are on Ocean Drive. For no views, but good food, iL Mulino, Prime Fish, Joe's Stone Crab, Milo's, and Tiramesu are credible choices. All of these restaurants are no more than a block from our condo. Happy dining.

From past experience, I found that boarding after 1pm, has not a line or a problem.... many times your the only passenger....because of the madness for meals... That said, I avoid the first feeding as I know there will be plenty more. AND the inital frenzy of boarding and gotta get me some chow ethic is less than ideal to enjoy.

Last cruise on Riveria I boarded at about 1:45, Went to my room, peeked in and saw it was done and dropped your hand luggage in the closet, Went up to the pool deck had a grey goose and relaxed . Had a nice dinner at 6:30 after sailing,,, not stuffed as a bunny..from a buffet of the mad. Find a nice quiet corner and relax till sailing............. Thats the way I do it.
