Following your posts/review on the Escape. That drink looks great! Can't wait for my Norwegian cruise in January! It will be our first NCL cruise, so we will be new to Freestyle Cruising. I'd like to hear how that works out, not using set dinner times (what we are used to). We will be on the Getaway, but I love following all ships for future reference.

 

 

So my suggestion is to make reservations at any speciality restaurant you want to eat at as soon as you are on the ship (or before if you can). iconcierge app is the easiest way but make sure you download it before you get on the ship. Other than that I LOVE the freedom. Tonight for instance, we are on our balcony drinking wine as we sail away from St. Thomas. We will go to dinner when we get hungry! [emoji4]

One question: how much is Bingo? We aren't casino types and played bingo all the time on our Carnival cruise in December.

Seems odd for ropes course not to be open sooner than 430. Are the slides also closed on port days?

So I mastered the ropes course and whoa that was fun!!! So glad I got past that first plank and stuck to it. Yay me!

 

Yay you! I'm hoping to try new things on this cruise but not sure I can handle the ropes. Heights are not my friend.

 

Do you know if you can make dinner reservations with iConcierge if you only download the app but do not purchase the texting/call option? I know you can view dailies but I'm not sure if you can do more than just look.

Answer is Yes. You don't have to purchase the text/call plan. The app will automatically connect to the ships WIFI once onboard and allow you to make reservations for dining/entertainment etc. granted space is available

 

I've used the app on Epic, Getaway and Escape and it's pretty neat. Definitely convenient

Did you already post your cabin number? It looks like you are on the 9th deck maybe? We are on 9th deck port side in May. Just wondering if that's what our view will be like.

 

 

We are 10th Starboard. Room 10786.

I made a few dinner reservations already . The problem is hat NCL limits the number of reservations that can be made prior to getting on the ship. Wasn't able to get the exact days and time I wanted and will make adjustments when we get on board.

Following you here and also on marine traffic. Keep the ship in good shape for us. I will be leaving old man winter, the great white north, land of ice and snow behind on Friday. Canadian in Southern Ontario here. Woo hoo. Thanks for your review.

In Tortola today. The ship was already docked when we woke up at 6:15 this morning. It's another beautiful day! Getting off the ship was easy - just make sure you pay attention to if you get off the ship aft or forward or you will get a nice long tour of the ship!

 

For today we booked an independent tour and went to the Baths first, sitting at lunch now and then going to snorkel a cave. The Baths was cool but the cave is definitely not for people of size. Tons of tiny spaces. We missed a pretty important turn somehow and took a nice tour through waist deep water over uneven slippery rocks. It was an adventure for sure! But yes, very crowded.

 

We ate at Taste last night and it was good again. The ceviche is a family favorite! Looks like Cagney's tonight.

 

Battery is running low so I'll post more later along with pictures!

Do you happen to know when the paid (not the free Latitudes) Behind the Scenes Tour is scheduled? It's always on a sea day.

It shows up on the Daily as a Special Event on Monday, the second sea day. But oddly there is no time listed and I can't find it in the timetable.

We ended up having a great time in Tortola! I'll post more about the Baths when the wifi isn't sooooo sllooowwww like it is right now. This time of day seems to be the worst for the wifi. I'm guessing too many people using it!

 

Ugh can't post pictures now so I'll try again later!! Time to visit The Cellar on the waterfront [emoji4].

Could you post pics of the menu at the Wine Cellar for us, specifically the wines available by the glass? Thanks, and say hi to Chono at the Cellar waterfront. She is a great hardworking bartender.
