gambee Posted April 7, 2016 Author #351 Share Posted April 7, 2016 There was another cruise ship in the distance. There you can see the kids' area. I would later bring mom to this area, so that she could enjoy it as well.
gambee Posted April 7, 2016 Author #352 Share Posted April 7, 2016 Once on the promenade deck, I took pictures of the Starbucks menus. It was quite busy down there. I guess they had one of their non-sense sales :D
gambee Posted April 7, 2016 Author #353 Share Posted April 7, 2016 The last T-shirt!!!! run, run, run, run!!!!! I decided to get in line in front of the Voom internet stand, to inquire about adding the second line. But like I said it cannot be done. The issue is that there is no clear line, and everyone keeps getting in, and she takes forever with one person. I highly suggest you go to guest services instead, and that is what I did after waiting 15 minutes or so. Guest services were quick, albeit she was not the friendliest. I inquired about the internet, and also my complimentary dinner at Chops. She told me that the dinner was there, just to let them know about it. Then I also asked about some OBC that I had, and she was a little intense explaining me that it was already used (I knew that already, I wanted to make sure that it was there since the TV account system was not working). It was an ok experience, not great, but much better than the ones I had with NCL on Breakaway. Somewhat happy with my answers (nothing to do about the internet), I went to see if mom was done with her work. I picked up mom and of to the solarium we went. I grabbed a coke from the minibar before leaving.
gambee Posted April 7, 2016 Author #354 Share Posted April 7, 2016 The Lido deck was much busier then.
gambee Posted April 7, 2016 Author #355 Share Posted April 7, 2016 We sat on one of the tables near the bistro. There were no loungers available, so that was our only option. I went upstairs to get some shots from up there, while mom used the internet for a little while. You see the guy with the red container? He has one rough job. He walks around all that picking up plates and dishes. Just imagine that, exposed to the sun and whatnot, day after day. Did I mention that the Jacuzzies are burning hot! gambee Posted April 7, 2016 Author #356 Share Posted April 7, 2016 The solarium opens for lunch at noon. That place is hit or miss, our first two days were very enjoyable there. But it quickly became monotonous, and we had to look for lunch elsewhere. It is nice and quiet there, usually. Like I said, no ice machines. gambee Posted April 7, 2016 Author #358 Share Posted April 7, 2016 Salmon and rice, with a miso soup. Everything was really tasty, although I like my salmon a little undercooked. It was very well done.
gambee Posted April 7, 2016 Author #359 Share Posted April 7, 2016 From here I really enjoyed the baby corn with the ranch dressing, everything else was just ok. Mom enjoyed the steak, and the beans, well they were beans, lol. The pistachio sugar free cake on the left was great. The other two desserts were tasty as well. Word of advice, the wrap on the right was horrible. The worst part is that they always looked sooooo good, and each time they had different flavored ones, and I keep on trying them all, only to figure out that they are all tasteless. What a shame, they could be so good. Oh, it is not a dessert. Some of them have salad, some shrimp, some chicken, even the one with jalapeños was dry and tasteless. How is that possible? After that we went downstairs to the Dreamworks parade, one of my favorite things of the Allure of the seas cruise. And this one did not disappoint, actually it was much better than the Allure one. There was an acrobat, and overall it just seemed longer and more engaged. WE LOVED IT!!!!
gambee Posted April 7, 2016 Author #360 Share Posted April 7, 2016 You can see the acrobat there, we did not have the best spot, but no worries, I get a better spot later on the second one. My best suggestion is to get there super early and seat front line in sorrentos, those are the VIP seats. The other good location is standing on the stairs that are going up towards the photo store. And who remembers my infatuation over these jumping horses on the Allure cruise? Well, it happened all over again. I cannot explain what is it about these horses that bring out the child in me. I am obsessed with them, and for no specific reason. It is not like I adore horses or anything, I simply can’t explain it. And this time the were JOUSTING!!!!!! Are you kidding me?!?!?! I was in heaven!!!! And yes, a tear or two came out, I have no clue why...
gambee Posted April 7, 2016 Author #361 Share Posted April 7, 2016 There they go! Here they are jousting! How cool is that?!?!? And right in front of me! I was in Haven!!! Or Heaven!!! I keep confusing those, but then again, who cares. We are all just human after all.
gambee Posted April 7, 2016 Author #362 Share Posted April 7, 2016 Words cannot describe my excitement! Most characters high five the children when they walk by them. ALEX THE LION!!!
gambee Posted April 7, 2016 Author #363 Share Posted April 7, 2016 This is your place to be a child again! Pinocchio was soooo funny, but you have to wait for the other parade to see him. This time around, he did not dance in front of me. The 3 little piggies just walked around with a grumpy look on their face. It was a very odd fit for a parade with such energy in it. But I guess they were trying to fit into their character.
gambee Posted April 7, 2016 Author #364 Share Posted April 7, 2016 Horses one more time =). At the end the blow confetti all over the promenade. I feel bad for whoever has to clean that mess. I said it on my first ever review and I will say it again. I would book Oasis class just for this parade! Or should I just say for the horses :D
gambee Posted April 7, 2016 Author #365 Share Posted April 7, 2016 By the way, the presentations are identical. Down to when the CD comes in and interrupts the show because it started without him. I am not sure if they have two parades in the 7 night cruise, but I think they actually may only have one. I could be wrong, that might be something to check on the 7 day dailies. We had 2, on the first and last sea days. After the parade was over, I went to check out the menus for the week and take pictures of it. They have them all on screens, really cool. Much better than when they post the daily ones on other cruise lines.

gambee Posted April 7, 2016 Author #368 Share Posted April 7, 2016 After checking out the menu, we decided to go look at the vintages menus, since that was our plan for that night. Actually, it was supposed to be lunch, be we did not want to miss the parade. I also got the 150 menus. I had thought about going 150 at one point, but quite honestly after our bad experience with the server on the Allure it just did not feel right. Especially when spending over $100 for the dinner. Shaydi Posted April 7, 2016 #370 Share Posted April 7, 2016 I was going to ask if you went to Sabor, but you beat me to it. we loved it and went back for a second night. I love the new menu boards, it's nice to scroll through the week and see if there's a menu you don't like and make other plans - like Sabor.:p keep up the good work! sonicbuffalo Posted April 7, 2016 #371 Share Posted April 7, 2016 Great review! I love the horses too! When we were on the Allure, Captain Johnny came riding through on his motorcycle and parked and talked with us. Just about the only time I didn't have my camera with me....schucks! BugsyCruiser Posted April 7, 2016 #372 Share Posted April 7, 2016 The DreamWorks photos are fantastic! Also appreciate the photos of the menu from 150 Central Park as I will finally be dining there on my Oasis cruise :) Sent from my LG G5 using Tapatalk
Duke Mazer Posted April 7, 2016 #373 Share Posted April 7, 2016 Great review couple of things 1. Cats is not you or your Mom i think 75% people dont' like it! Reason I will won't book Oasis again. Mama mia here we come! 2. Is it me or it seems they change a a whole bunch of things and up charged too. Looks like the Christmas Cruises when they bumped prices. It's a 9 day cruise should have seriously should have left the $15/day voom. I just would not be happy if i couldn't... steam/Periscope. 3. Ok forgive me, up front I am a non drinker, but just by looking at the first day how did you do without the package. Looks like you were hitting 5 drinks or close to it. 4. Did you have the dessert combo at Sabor, that was amazing.
wolfganghowell Posted April 7, 2016 #374 Share Posted April 7, 2016 I'm almost reliving my Oasis cruise. But give us a spoiler alert - tell us the Evil Witch next door got in trouble for smoking on the balcony. The rule follower in me wants to know she got caught! :D :D Sorry it impacted your cruise. ps - love the horses too. ;)
Imalismom Posted April 7, 2016 #375 Share Posted April 7, 2016 I am not sure what she will do on our upcoming NCL Escape cruise and when will that date be? Just asking for us that might be booking a future cruise.... :)
