Things to do near Montego Bay ship port

We are looking for some things to do that don't require us to buy the expensive ship tours in Montego Bay. We are looking for beach areas that are safe and fun and easy to get to from the ship port. Any help? We know about a few of the beaches in the area, but which ones are the nicest, cleanest and safest.

From Montego Bay Doctor's Cave is the beach mentioned most often. Start your search with it and you will run across a lot of ways to get there outside of the ship excursions.

In MB you park in a fairly industrial area

 

take a taxi to Dr' as mentioned. I walk it ... but have been many times s know where I'm going
