Does VOOM include texting?

Just a note with regard to WiFi calling, at least as implemented on an iPhone 6s Plus and AT&T. When active, it will say AT&T WiFi at the top left of the screen. It only seems to show up about half the time on the ship (BR). Could be related to the high latency and/or low bandwidth. Can't seem to see a pattern to it.

We've not tried voice calls yet, but SMS texts are working. I'll try a voice call later. Time change makes it tough because we're going to sleep when folks at home are just getting off work. However, we just turned back an hour last night, so are only 5 hours off from EDT now.

At least one good reason is that you'll get much better battery life out of your device if it is not constantly searching for a Cell signal.

Interesting thread. I remember the days of taking walkie-talkies to communicate, which usually didn't work too well. Love the idea of being able to text to find someone.
