hancock Posted April 19, 2016 #101 Share Posted April 19, 2016 Just off Anthem. Do go to Silk if you like Chateaubriand. The Hibachi Steak is actually 2 slices of Chateaubriand. DS had a triple order twice. Also, if you lunch in Chic, one of the menus has Manhattan Clam Chowder--fantastic! Best I have ever had with lots of clams and veggies, more like a stew. novicetraveller Posted April 19, 2016 Author #104 Share Posted April 19, 2016 Been to Meet and Mingle this morning in the Music Hall. Got our obligatory pen and pad. The Activities Manager did his usual waffle about how Cruise Critic members are appreciated. Had a raffle, and I won a bottle of wine. It's a shame I don't drink. :o I went to 270 for Lunch, and was disappointed with the lack of choice. Also, I was a bit disappointed that 270 wasn't open for breakfast this morning, as I didn't want to go to Windjammer. However, I ended up in Windjammer for breakfast.... and lunch. I must admit that the Pasta was reasonably nice. Needs a bit more seasoning in the sauce, but that's not a disaster. I was going to go to the Casino for another visit after lunch, but only to find that there was a queue for the theatre. A queue that started over an hour before the show started. Now here's the thing. Royal IQ says the show starts at 14:45, the TV screens outside the theatre says 14:30. So, if I relied on the Royal IQ app, I would have missed the show. So, I was a bit lucky. Anyway, I sat near the front row. Ordered a couple of drinks and handed over my Sea Pass card to the waiter. The lights went out, I got my drinks, but got someone else's Sea Pass. I only realised I had someone else's Sea Pass card when I couldn't open my room. I went to Guest Services to raise the issue. Waited in line..... and the person whose Sea Pass card I had was luckily in front of me. Problem averted, but am slightly annoyed that the mistake had happened. I won't be ordering drinks again in the theatre if I can avoid it. I'm shortly off to have some dinner...... not many pics today, as it is sea day, and the areas I want to photograph are too crowded. tlreze Posted April 19, 2016 #105 Share Posted April 19, 2016 If you have a loyalty level coupon, that can only be applied if you purchase the package on-board. It's quite easy to purchase the package on board, right from your device. No need to do this in advance IMHO, unless you don't want the fee to be on your Sea pass card What do you mean by loyalty level coupon? This is only the 2nd time I have sailed RCCL but we signed up for crown & anchor and now gold (whoopee), will that get me anything for internet? novicetraveller Posted April 20, 2016 Author #109 Share Posted April 20, 2016 Morning all. It's only 4:15am NYC time. Can't sleep... I just thought I would share with you a tip. If like me, you carry your phone around with you, you are likely to want to charge the phone up at some point. If your phone supports fast charging (Some modern Android phones like the Samsung Galaxy S6 and S7 does), you may want to consider bringing a USB charger plug that supports 2 Amp output with you rather than rely on the USB ports that are provided by the ship, which are likely to be 1 Amp output. Today, I'm doing the All Access Tour at 9am and North Star this afternoon. I am hoping to take a few shots here. A quick summary of yesterday. I saw We Will Rock You. An interesting musical, something that I would watch again. It was a bit loud, but there again, that's the nature of this musical. I didn't mind it being loud, at least it wasn't deafening. I also saw Spectre Cabaret. It was a bit too camp for my liking. I was expecting more technical display, so I was a little disappointed. However, it's something I have done once, may do again, but not something for me to boast about. The performances were great, so please don't misunderstand me in thinking it wasn't. I would have been happier if there were more technical element to the show. Just a word of warning for future cruisers on the Anthem. If you are like me in booking the entertainment when they pretty much open, you may find that RCI will change the schedule for another time. RCI had changed my bookings for all the shows to different timing and days. I have also found that the times they changed my bookings to for yesterdays performances didn't match the times on the Cruise Compass. So please beware and check. This is a Sunrise image from yesterday morning. As I have been impressed with Windjammer yesterday, I may try having dinner there tonight.
Mom.to.2 Posted April 20, 2016 #110 Share Posted April 20, 2016 Agree with WWRY being loud. I had to run back to my cabin to grab ear plugs for my kids. It was intolerable for them, and they don't typically have sensory issues. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mom.to.2 Posted April 20, 2016 #111 Share Posted April 20, 2016 Novice traveler, you may want to try the made-to-order egg station or crêpe station in Windjammer for breakfast. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk The show isn't for everyone, and it maybe a case that RCI need to advertise how loud the show is at different places in the hall as well as the overall average noise levels are so people can decide whether to go or no. starfish216 Posted April 20, 2016 #114 Share Posted April 20, 2016 (edited) I don't think Anthem was around last May. The late departure may just be an Anthem thing, or a occassional occurance. Enjoying your review! Thanks for the info regarding changing of show times. So far I only received one email it was regarding the change in WWRY show time, so I now know to keep checking daily. I aware that the Anthem wasn't around last May...when we sailed on Quantum in March last year we left at 4 PM The two prior years when we sailed on Explorer we also left at 4 PM When the Anthem returns on April 30th she departs at 4 PM We have Anthem booked for May 5, 16 and May 11, 2017 and both dates have 4 PM departures I have been following the Anthem since her arrival in the winter and she seemed to be leaving around 3 PM but now that Spring and Summer is here she is scheduled for 4 PM. So I think the departure time change is more to do with the seasons. Edited April 20, 2016 by starfish216

novicetraveller Posted April 21, 2016 Author #116 Share Posted April 21, 2016 (edited) I went to the Casino earlier today and attempted to charge my Seapass card for some cash for use today. I found out there was a problem and went to Guest Services to sort it out. I just found out this evening they have taken 2 full balance payments from the registered card. To my astonishment, it appears they have also taken payment from another card of mine which I had on my initial Setsail document (which I had changed to a different card). So 3 payments have now been taken. I am not going to stress about this today, but will hopefully see this sorted at some point in the near future. I am a bit annoyed that they have a hold on 2 full payments, but it's not a disaster. I also had a slight panic regarding my additional bookings with Jamie Olivers restaurant. A bit of history. I booked 3 seatings with Jamie's pre-cruise. They have been paid for and sorted. I decided to go to Jamie's today and yesterday. What I didn't realise was that the restaurant manager hadn't charged me for it as he felt that I wasn't going to come back after today. This has been resolved. Anyway, I went up the North Star this afternoon and the All Access Tour this morning. I don't want to appear ungrateful, but I would advise anyone not to spend the money on the All Access Tour on the Anthem. It isn't really worth the money. If you want to do an All Access Tour, do it on ships like the Oasis or the Allure. Just some images from today. The view from the North Star will be posted later. novicetraveller Posted April 21, 2016 Author #117 Share Posted April 21, 2016 It's 5:10am here on the Anthem and we will shortly be arriving into Labadee Beech in a few hours time. I don't have any excursions or Cabana booked for this port, so I will spend a few hours with my camera doing some photography. Here's one image of the ship from the North Star. novicetraveller Posted April 21, 2016 Author #120 Share Posted April 21, 2016 The forecast in Haiti is supposed to be raining. I don't know how accurate the forecast is, but there is some seriously heavy clouds around. It almost feels like home, except for the 30 Degrees C's heat.

Sadly whatever term I would use, it could cause offence. I am still trying to figure out the most appropriate term to use without causing any offence to anyone.
