sunseeker1258 Posted April 18, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 18, 2016 We are going on Veendam in a couple of months and want to take a cooking class. We were told these fill up quickly. How do we sign up?
SilvertoGold Posted April 18, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 18, 2016 Front Desk as soon as you board. They will be able to tell you if there are multiple classes or just one and what the theme is. They can be a lot of fun and the Pinnacle lunch is always great. Enjoy!!
cabinluvn Posted April 18, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 18, 2016 They have changed the classes quite a bit. They pair up in teams of two...as in the past, but now you don't eat what you fix. You had a glass or two of wine while you cooked and unlimited wine pours while you ate what you cooked in the Pinnacle. Now there is no wine while you cook and one small pour of either a white or red during lunch. You still get an apron and copies of the recipes. The atmosphere was more subdued. I won't do another one, but I will attend the cooking demonstrations instead. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

We've been to many and they are all different. The best was when we got to choose off the Pinnacle lunch menu and the Chef was very involved in the class. I agree that they are not as generous with the wine lately. On longer cruises the atmosphere is often better, more fun, more relaxed, with more wine. Personally, I don't see this as a class where you are going to actually "learn" much. An inexpensive fun shorex for many pax.

Old As Dirt Mom Posted April 18, 2016 #6 Share Posted April 18, 2016 Thanks! What is the cost usually? $29 per person, and well worth it:)
Krazy Kruizers Posted April 18, 2016 #7 Share Posted April 18, 2016 And it is limited to 12 people per class. We have been on ships/itineraries when the class(es) were cancelled because of lack of interest. On port intensive cruises, some times the classes are held on port days. Krazy Kruizers Posted April 19, 2016 #11 Share Posted April 19, 2016 On one of our cruises, the cooking class began around 1 PM and finished by 3:30. Then everyone sat down to eat by 4.
cabinluvn Posted April 19, 2016 #12 Share Posted April 19, 2016 Not sure I would like a class that late in the afternoon. I wouldn't be hungry for dinner! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
Krazy Kruizers Posted April 19, 2016 #13 Share Posted April 19, 2016 That is why we chose not to sign up for the class. Our dinner is at 5:30 and we wouldn't be hungry.
