What attractions are near the Philadelphia airport that we could see in about 7 hours?

As far as I'm concerned, the nearest "attraction" to the Philadelphia airport is Philly itself and all it has to offer, including Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, the Museum of Art, and the National Constitution Center. (And of course genuine Philly cheesesteaks, wiz wit. :) )

 

You should do some research on Philly and decide what would interest you.

What attractions are near the Philadelphia airport that we could see in about 7 hours?

 

You can take the train (Septa) from the airport to downtown Philadelphia --get off at Jefferson station and you are within walking distance of Independence National Park with the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. They are located across the street from one another, the two landmarks serve as the most potent symbols of the American revolution and the birth of the young nation. Independence Hall is the site where both the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution was debated over and ultimately adopted. If you go into the visitor's center you can watch a historical film for free and often find free walking tours. It is an interesting area to walk around and is close to the Delaware River which is another interesting place to walk around. If you want something to eat walk to South Street or to Chinatown. There is also a shuttle bus located downtown called the Phlash which takes you from the downtown area to 22 different stops from museums to the zoo, to the waterfront. The Phlash just operates Friday, Saturday, Sunday now but will be daily after May 1 for the summer. It only run to the early evening (5:30 or about). The fare is $2 a ride or $5 for an all day pass.The Philadelphia Museum of Art is world class, and the Ben Franklin Science Museum is fun for the kids. There is lots to do in Philadelphia. Have fun.
