Rare Jim_Iain Posted June 3, 2016 #101 Share Posted June 3, 2016 Thanks Tee Rick for this thread. We got upgraded to a CS on Connie next month, and your comments so far have been very reassuring. We don't expect an M-class ship to be brand new -- "patina" is a good word for a classy lady like this! The only negative I have heard about the CS suites is noise in the bedroom from the adjacent public corridor -- has this been a problem for you? Jazzbeau - We sail exclusively in CS's and RS. On the M-Class ships you do not get any noise from the hallways. You do however get some noise from you neighbor in the adjacent CS as there is a connecting door which is not very noise proof. I often have heard the butler talking when delivering breakfast. The bedroom is totally silent and have never heard anything from there. Shadow1966 Posted June 3, 2016 #102 Share Posted June 3, 2016 Luminae folks said they will accept guests up to 2PM that day. In a suite just go to Michael's Club once you board and Erick will direct you to Luminae or to your other options. Your butler will likely also be there. When we got to Miami cruise port for embarkation they had a special waiting area for suite passengers after we checked in. It had food and refreshments and comfortable seats. Once the ship opened they escorted us to Michael's Club. I'm not sure if they do any of this at SD cruise port. Dining in Luminae has been an exceptional experience on this ship. Evening All TeeRick, I was wondering if you or anybody else knows if this is the same procedure for Suite Guests leaving from Vancouver? Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app *after* check-in there's special waiting areas for Status & Suites - at least for Princess, HAL so I assume Celebrity would do likewise - BUT the issue is that you cannot get to those lounges until you have done Security and US Immigration & Customs. And no Status or Suite shortcuts until the final step, cruise-line check-in I'm afraid - think of it as an 'all men are created equal' kind of affair;-)

Then comes Canadian and US Customs. For US Customs you get a special line if you have Global Access, it saved us about 15 minutes. Once you pass both Customs we were escorted through a special gangway straight to Michael's Club.
Shadow1966 Posted June 3, 2016 #106 Share Posted June 3, 2016 Thanks, was wondering what to expect. I've read a lot of different procedures. I just like to know what I'm walking into. We cannot formally dock or get off the ship. Do not know when or if we will be able to.....

Since you seem to have embarked just a few days ago I'll assume you're remembering correctly - but it's a change of process within less than a month as reported several times already for 2016... For at least part of 2015 they tried check-in first, then security, then US CBP - but reverted to the old Security/CBP/Check-in process this year again according to reports from early May. Regardless, you definitely did not see Canadian Customs when you embarked as that's only relevant when DISembarking, and the process for a 1- or 2-ship day differs from 3-ship days - so be aware that cruise check-in (and requisite Status/Suite perks) may not be available until after security & CBP... if it is on your departure, bonus! kitegirl Posted December 22, 2016 #113 Share Posted December 22, 2016 How wonderful of you to take time from your vacation to answer so many questions... I will be on Infinity in 2018 going to Alaska in a Sky Suite = accessible. The room number is 8127 If you get friendly with who is in that room can you post a few pics of it.. Also, where in the ship is the Suite Restaurant... I cannot seem to see it on the deck plan. One more question.. is there a lift to get to the new outdoor movie area. I am disabled and unable to do stairs at all. Thanks for you time and enjoy your cruise...
