Rare cruisestitch Posted April 30, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 30, 2016 That word is sort of like the word used for Royal Caribbeans high speed internet. In Celebrity it's called Xcellerate. Is that what you mean?
kenevenpar Posted April 30, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 30, 2016 RCI calls it Vroom. Celebrity is XCelerate, as mentioned above. It is the next generation of satellite internet, that is supposed to be a much higher speed connection (not as fast as high speed cable, but better than previous shipboard options). It is also an opportunity for more revenue for the cruise lines. I have not experienced it yet, but it has to be better than what was previously offered. Gingerbint Posted April 30, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 30, 2016 (edited) We used it the other week on our Eclipse S.Caribbean and it worked well. My husband was able to voice call and face time his parents from the ship whilst at sea. His mum got a guided tour of the ship via it! It was the best internet we have had on a ship. Seemed to be on par/better than we had on the Anthem/Quantum last year on Royal. Edited April 30, 2016 by Gingerbint
