maureencruiser Posted May 7, 2016 Author #76 Share Posted May 7, 2016 I was supposed to get 2 drinks as part of my package, but, they were out of coupons, so they said they would give me a $20 credit on my bill. That worked for me. I went with the Pan Seared Snapper and a watermelon margarita. This was my view as I sat outside. They threw some kind of greens on the snapper to healthy it up and I was so hungry, I forgot to take a picture of it before I started eating. The margarita was no slouch, either. How did I get to be 52 years old and never had a watermelon margarita? I wonder if the Divina has them?
Rare Essiesmom Posted May 7, 2016 #77 Share Posted May 7, 2016 This is Harry, Sir Harry, Himself, and Sir depending on what you are discussing with him. One of his favorite places is the guard at the top of the stairs: He also likes Erin's (my niece #1) lap: Sixteen pounds of cat. EM
Mikesa1721 Posted May 7, 2016 #78 Share Posted May 7, 2016 (edited) Good Morning Maureen!!! Happy Cruise Day!! Loving your review so far!! Here is the view from the PTZtv web cam,,,, http://portmiamiwebcam.com/ We should be able to follow you along most of your journey except for San Juan: http://portstmaartenwebcam.com/ http://mahobeachcam.com/ http://portnassauwebcam.com/ Edited May 7, 2016 by Mikesa1721
maureencruiser Posted May 7, 2016 Author #79 Share Posted May 7, 2016 In keeping with the theme of the review, there was a cat wandering around the tables. He must have known I was a cat person because he came and sat beside me. He didn't care for that chair and soon moved to another one. I needed another margarita about halfway through my dinner, but, my waiter never materialized until I was done eating. So, I ended up having the margarita as my dessert. I was scooping chunks of watermelon out of my glass, it was great. I liked how the lights from the boats looked in this picture, so, I took one of just the lights. I have a new camera for this trip, well, actually I bought it for my Alaska cruise, but, it arrived Tuesday, so, I brought it with me. Still just a simple point and shoot, but, with more megapixels and zoom. I met some people at the next table who were heading out on the Carnival Splendor (Splendour?) Saturday and after dinner, I hit the pool for some night swimming and hot tubbing and met a nice, young couple who are going on the Norwegian Escape. After that, I hit my room for a quick shower and some posting and then it was lights out.
maureencruiser Posted May 7, 2016 Author #80 Share Posted May 7, 2016 Ahhh Maureen! We most certainly do have to meet. HAHA, Now that I know what you look like, I will have to look for you and Essie. Dang, Mike, is that supposed to be Miami? Are there even ships in that picture? I hope they do better than that. I'll try to check the webcam around sailaway and if they're closer, I'll wave my orange towel like a fool.

They zoom the camera in during sail away. Carnival will have to turn around in the basin and pass right by MSC Divina,,there's a good chance we'll see you if you're near the aft of the ship,,,deck 15 specifically. :)
Mattnvick Posted May 7, 2016 #82 Share Posted May 7, 2016 Been following this review (having read your others) have booked on the Divina for November. It's only our 2nd cruise, 1st being on Enchantment last February so definitely newbies. It's Saturday morning and I'm sat here with tears of laughter rolling down my face. What a great start to the weekend. Thank you. Wishing you and Kittty a wonderful cruise.
maureencruiser Posted May 7, 2016 Author #83 Share Posted May 7, 2016 So, now, I am caught up and it is Saturday (Caturday). I woke up at 6:30 and ran right over to the window. Yes! Good morning, Miami! You is gorgeous! (You have to hear that the way I said it, like Lafayette from True Blood. Buenos dias, Miami, Usted es precioso. What? Never mind the sunrise? There is something else you want to see? Well, I can't imagine what? What could have possibly changed since I went to bed last night? ;) Oh, you must mean these four beauties! There's Lady D, bringing up the rear. Speaking of the rear, you sure is a wide bottomed girl, Lady D! (Lafayette voice) You can even see my cabin in this photo. I don't know what's going on with that orange business. By my calculations, that orange business is on deck 13 (yes, Italian ships have a deck 13, see my previous review) , so, if you go down to 10 and then go one cabin to the right (starboard), that should be my cabin. If Skier52 was here, he could correct me if I'm wrong, but, at the very least, I'm close. On a side note, I woke up at 5:30 and also ran to the window, but, there was no one there, not a single ship. They all arrived within that hour. Heaven help me next Saturday, what time is my flight, again? Also, the last time I had this cabin, there was a Celebrity ship behind Lady D, so, while I was trying to figure out how to take a selfie that would show the balcony, that ship's officers were watching me the whole time. I felt very self conscious, so glad that my view is unobstructed today.

We were in stateroom 12266 last April and the mast was right above our stateroom

Carnival will have to turn around in the basin and pass right by MSC Divina,,there's a good chance we'll see you if you're near the aft of the ship,,,deck 15 specifically. :) Child, if I'm in the aft of the ship, I'll be relaxing on my balcony with a few cold ones from my drink package. I'm gonna ask my cabin steward, with a $20 in my hand, if he can get me a lounge chair. I'm remembering the last time, I missed the welcome aboard show because I was on my balcony for sail away. Will both Carnivals have to do that? When is their sailaway? Maybe I can make a cameo appearance. :D It's Saturday morning and I'm sat here with tears of laughter rolling down my face. Well, yes, there is nothing funnier than the suffering of others! :D:D Stay tuned, I'm sure more people will piss me off before the end of the cruise. Last time, they denied me priority boarding, even though I'm Black. That just sounds wrong, but, hey, it's their program. :D

For some reason, I though you Yacht Clubbers were on a higher deck, breathing in the rarefied air, not choking on the stench from the smokestack like us commoners. :D:D

sandpiper35 Posted May 7, 2016 #88 Share Posted May 7, 2016 Gracias Maureen, yes Miami is beautiful, having those sunrise and sunsets every day of the year here in Miami, is like being on vacation year round. maureencruiser Posted May 7, 2016 Author #89 Share Posted May 7, 2016 Now, as I'm starting to pack for the shuttle, I realize I don't have luggage tags. I'll never get priority boarding this way. There is no way they will know I'm Black, just by looking at me. Trust me! :D:D

maureencruiser Posted May 7, 2016 Author #94 Share Posted May 7, 2016 Alright, I'm heading down to the lobby for the shuttle. The next time you hear from me, I SHOULD be on the ship. maureencruiser Posted May 7, 2016 Author #96 Share Posted May 7, 2016 I'm on! No problem with the luggage tags, the porter made one for me. we'll see if I get my luggage! There is already luggage out in the hallway. They said cabins would be open at 2:30, but, you know me. We boarded in the aft, so, I figured I'd pop my head in, see if I could drop off my laptop at least. As I was going down the hall, I saw my steward from December! Harry? I said. He said, Oh miss, I don't remember your name, but, weren't you in 262? Yes, I said and I am again! Apparently, there will be no need to bribe him, there is already a lounger on the balcony. I'm trying to show you how big the balcony is. Here is the front of it. See how much room between the rail and the lounger? And, here is the width. Yorkvillain Posted May 7, 2016 #97 Share Posted May 7, 2016 :D:D Oh, Glory be! I needed that. So funny! When the three of us cruise, maybe we should just have one big review where we each post, instead of three separate ones! :D:D Andrew will handle the periscoping (and Flow Ride). I'll post all the photos (and eat roast beef sandwiches). Maureen will do the hilarious live commentary (and get into bizarre situations that make her review even more hysterical). Love2Cruz2015 Posted May 7, 2016 #100 Share Posted May 7, 2016 That's some balcony! I have an aft too, I hope it's as large as that one! I got mine with as a Bella Balcony too, you'd think one would have to pay more for the larger balconies! I had an aft on the Disney Dream and got hooked...I will book one when I can! Enjoy Maureen!!
