kevinyork Posted May 7, 2016 #1 Share Posted May 7, 2016 We will be getting the unlimited internet plan on our Eclipse cruise in 2 weeks time. It will only be a one device plan but it got me thinking. If we connect using my iPhone then use the phone as a personal hotspot couldn't we connect with our laptop or iPad to the iPhone and both be online at the same time? Adidas4fun Posted May 7, 2016 #2 Share Posted May 7, 2016 You would think so, but no. And thats a limitation of the iphone not the plan.

blackshirt Posted May 7, 2016 #4 Share Posted May 7, 2016 Personal hotspot only allows you to share a cellular data connection, not a wifi connection.
oroszdb Posted May 7, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 7, 2016 There's personal travel routers on Amazon from Hoo Too that'll let you share the single connection with multiple devices
Rare Jim_Iain Posted May 7, 2016 #6 Share Posted May 7, 2016 I have to agree with the others. I tried it on my last cruise and was unable to do it with my IPhone. There is a PC / Mac program called Connectify Hotspot that allow you to use your PC as a hotspot. I have used it at hotels and plan on trying it on my next cruise. If not I'm ok with switching back and forth between devices.
