Elite Lounge at Canada Place terminal

Is there an Elite Lounge at Canada Place -- a place to be prior to boarding? We were there before but I can't remember any PreBoarding area or Priority Boarding. When we were last there, there was three ships in port and it was crowded and busy with those getting on and those getting off. We sail from Canada Place again in the Fall and I see there will be 3 ships again.

There wasn't as of last season. There is preferred boarding, but you have to make it through such a gauntlet of things with no preferred lines first that it's useless. Take earplugs and patience and feel lucky if you don't need either. Canada Place is a nightmare. Vancouver is a beautiful city to see pre or post cruise however!

Yes we have a beautiful city, but have to agree with the opinion of so many visitors that the logistics of boarding a ship if there are more than two ships in port are a nightmare.

Traffic in downtown Vancouver is a disaster at the best of times, but to funnel thousands of passengers into one small area at the same time is but another example of the lack of common sense exhibited by most local bureaucrats. But it's Canada and that's' how we do things. Never going to change.

We've had a seating area with light snacks and beverages, but the vast majority of the time, regardless of how early we arrive, we've boarded directly after completing check-in. I can think of one or two times out of the last dozen Vancouver embarkations that we've so much as sat down after getting key cards.

Visitors cruising to Vancouver are at least docked in the center of the city. Many times one is docked miles away from city centers.Notice on ship excursions it sometimes takes a couple of hours to reach them by car or coach from the ship.

Vancouver is like an Island surrounded by water have several bridges over water to reach city center cannot expand except upwards.

Yes can get very congested at the port.Look at it this way you have the city on your doorstep when you step off the ship....:)

What time should you arrive to hopefully avoid the busiest time?:o

There are 7 days in May where there are 3 or more ships in port, during this repositioning month....so if sailing this month there is probably no good time to arrive. Once things settle down to the 1 or 2 ships a day then you will avoid most of the lines after 2 pm. However, if you are among the set that wants to be first on the ship then the porters start accepting luggage at 10 am, then get in line.

Do you recall where it is in the terminal?

You first have to go through Security and Customs with the masses. Next you go to Preferred Check-In, and THEN you make it to the calm of the Platinum/Elite Lounge. It was about 10 rows of folding chairs, manned by 2 crew members, and had coffee, water, and pastries. Boarding began just before Noon.
