Does Royal ever card people in the casino?

Recommended Posts

No, they do not. At least RC didn't on my first cruise. I had just turned 18, and my brother was 14. I normally don't gamble because I hate losing money, but my brother wanted me to gamble for him. So he was there beside me the entire time, giving me money to gamble, while RC employees were not paying any attention to us.

YMMV.

There is no rhyme or reason as to when they card someone. But I have not seen them have an issue when underage people where standing beside/behind someone at a table or slot.

My three sons were always carded when they went into the casino under age 18. A couple of times we were just playing our spin to win tokens. Asked to leave if they were not 18. Every single time!

Apparently not always. On my March Navigator cruise a woman brought her "maybe" 13 or 14 year old son/grandson/nephew? in the casino each night and he always played a machine next to her without being bothered while I was there.

My experience was on various ships, but not Navigator. And it was usually seconds to minutes before security arrived.

Maybe Grandma was gambling a lot of money? If they make him leave, she does too. And the casino loses for once. ;-)
